• Revealing mistakes: The floor of the bottomless chasm is visible while the bandits are swinging on ropes.
  
  
• Continuity: Randall and Kevin disappear from their seats at the rail on the Titanic when it begins sinking.
  
  
• Revealing mistakes: You can see Strutter's shadow on the back wall in the escape from the cage scene.
  
  

• Factual errors: The life preserver on the ship reads "SS Titanic." The Titanic's insignia was RMS Titanic, for "Royal Mail Steamer".
  
  
• Revealing mistakes: At the feast in Greece when the servant cuts open the huge piece of meat, some of the fruits are clearly made of plastic - the pineapple is the most obvious.
  
  
• Crew or equipment visible: When the Bandits are pushing the wall to escape Kevins bedroom it was actually done down a long corridor - there is a piece of tape in the top left corner when they reach the end and push the wall out. Gilliam wanted to go back and do a re-take, but couldn't due to budget restraints.
  
  
• Anachronisms: At the feast in Greece many of the fruits that come out of the bull were not known in the region until very much later. Most notably the pineapples, which weren't known in the Old World until some 2000 years later (as their origin is South America).
  
  
• Revealing mistakes: A rope is seen pulling the bushes apart as the Bandits rush to the aid of the robbers attacking the Middle Ages couple.
  
  
• Continuity: The old poor woman in line steps up to Robin Hood twice.
  
  
• Continuity: When the cowboys lasso Evil, one of the ropes is draped over his shoulder. But in the next shot, all of the ropes are secured around his shoulders.
  
  
• Continuity: While approaching the city in the Napoléon Bonaparte scene, the same group of people is executed twice.
  
  
• Continuity: When Agamemnon drops the bullhead, he's just wearing his soldiers dress, next shot he's wearing a red coat over his shoulders.
  
  
• Revealing mistakes: During the big battle at the end of the film, the "5" on the spaceship's tail is backwards for one frame, revealing the usage of a mirror image.
  
  
• Audio/visual unsynchronized: At Agamemnon's feast, in the absolute silence following the gang's vanishing act, a guest can be seen clapping enthusiastically.
  
  
• Anachronisms: After the final battle scene, when the Supreme Being has arrived, there are several shots of the bodies of the three knights that attacked Evil before. The one knight on the floor on his knees is wearing soled leather shoes with a heel.
  
  
• Continuity: When Redgrave (Derrick O'Connor) arrives at Robin Hood's camp after meeting the time bandits, he crosses a bridge and swats a peasant with his coat. In the next scene he does exactly the same thing.
  
  
• Anachronisms: We see Napoléon Bonaparte in 1796, wearing the Legion of Honor (Légion d'Honneur). The medal was not constructed until 19 May 1802.
  
  
• Crew or equipment visible: When the characters are running in a forest into and through a time portal, to the left of screen a crew member in a green anorak is seen clearly completely in shot hurling leaves in front of a wind machine (not in shot) into the scene.
  
  
• Continuity: Near the end of the film, when Kevin is looking at his Polaroid's, the shot shows the actor with dry and chapped lips. When he is seen in the next shot telling his parents not to touch the "evil" chunk, his lips are no longer dry and chapped, but normal and with makeup.
  
  
• Continuity: At the court of King Agamemnon, When the Time Bandits perform their disappearing act, the King's crown is dropped onto Kevin's head twice. But it is nowhere to be seen when he lands on the Titanic.
  
  
• Revealing mistakes: Toward the end of the movie the bandits steal back the map. The creatures begin to chase after them and one of them shoots "missiles" out of its eyes. The wire these "missiles" travel along are clearly visible.
  
  
• Incorrectly regarded as goofs: There are several odd jump cuts in the film, most notably when the poor are getting punched in Robin Hood's camp and when Mrs. Ogre is knocked overboard with the cauldron. This is probably deliberate to create a sense of unrealism.
