One of the rare Yash Chopra films that didn't do all that well at the Box Office, I thought however that it ranks as his best. Brooding court martialled officer Amitabh works as a coal miner to get away from it all. He gets a chance to redeem himself and regain some of his lost self-respect when there is a mine disaster and heroics are needed. Also a few good good cameos from the supporting cast, especially Shatrughan Sinha. A rare commercial Hindi film that has a plot, characterisation and no pointless songs to carry it off.
