Cannes 79 : hidden jewel
jean-pierre-trieb27 May 2012
Michel Andrieu's first movie is a wonderful and unique experience for me. This was the first time I knew about opera : to listen to the first W.A.Mozart's opera composition, was a very charming moment. it was also the first time I got interested in the Cannes Festival, which was probably so hermetic to me before that. it was very hard to escape from this movie, and the first time I could not stop my tears flowing : the compelling atmosphere of the movie is like walking at the edge of the end of the world; we listen to the War and we cannot see it, but we see these two mothers watching their children with delight and not being able any more to get back to the time when they were young and happy, as their husbands will never come back from the fight.
