15 March 1977In the debut episode of the series,set in Santa Monica,California,Janet and Chrissy have woken up the next day after the moving away party for their friend Elanore. Chrissy enters the bathroom to find a man (Jack Tripper) sleeping in the tub so she he runs and gets Janet. Jack's startled awake to discover he's soaking wet,while Janet holds a plunger out like a gun,asking "Who are you?" (in her short lived New York accent). Jack introduces himself and tells them he was one of the party crashers. They get Jack out of the bathroom and offer to dry his clothes in the oven and let him wear one of their frilly robes until later. Chrissy gets the idea to have jack move in because he lives at the YMCA and a man would be great protection for them. After initial reluctance,Janet goes for the idea. Meanwhile landlord Stanley Roper is awake downstairs and still bothered about all the noise from the party last night.He goes up to complain and finds Jack there,he then runs to get his wife Helen,who doesn't believe him but she goes just the same. Stanley (more than Helen)does not approve of the idea of Jack living with two girls. Jack goes with Chrissy to the kitchen for his clothes and offers to leave so they don't get in trouble. When they come back out in the living room,Stanley and Helen have suddenly changed their minds. Jack asks Janet how she talked them into it and after short explanation gives him the upshot,"Oh,I also told him that you were gay!" ...and so it started.

29 November 1977Janet reunites with an old school friend and invites him for dinner at the apartment where he ends up showing his sleazy side.
6 December 1977Jack's charming uncle gets the roommates into trouble when he gives Mr. Roper a fraudulent check for the rent.
13 December 1977The girls convince Mrs. Roper to get a job which she ends up hating so Jack comes up with a plan that will get Mr. Roper to convince his wife to quit.
20 December 1977After the roommates are not invited to a big Christmas party, they decide to go to a get together at the Ropers place.

3 January 1978Mr. Roper gives Jack money to buy an expensive coat for his wife. This causes a problem when Chrissy thinks it is her birthday present from Jack.

10 January 1978Janet asks Chrissy to help her entertain a business prospect but gets jealous when the young, handsome prospect takes a liking to Chrissy.
17 January 1978Jack and Chrissy agree to take over Janet's babysitting job for a night. To their dismay, they are met with a crying baby, no TV, and a locked liquor cabinet.
24 January 1978Chrissy gets a film camera to make some home movies but the projector is put to deviant use when Larry acquires a porn movie.
31 January 1978Jack agrees to work for Janet in the flower shop but doesn't see eye to eye with her management style.
7 February 1978The roommates plan a dinner for the Ropers but their evening is ruined when a blind guy that Jack knew in the navy shows up and won't leave until Jack hits him.
14 February 1978A woman claiming to be Jack's girlfriend tells Janet and Chrissy that she is pregnant. After they confront him, Jack proposes to his girlfriend who Janet and Chrissy later find out is a different girl.
21 February 1978The roommates clean up the Ropers' garden and give some weeds to Mrs. Roper to use in her flower arranging class. They later discover that the weeds are marijuana plants.

Season 2, Episode 24: Bird Song
9 May 1978Jack and Chrissy take turns sucking up to Janet who has acquired a pair of Frank Sinatra tickets. Th roommates are also entrusted to take care of a parakeet that Mr. Roper bought as a gift for his wife.
16 May 1978An old flame of Jack's shows up who broke his heart in the past. Chrissy attempts to persuade him to leave the girl so that she can get him to his surprise birthday party at the Ropers'.
12 September 1978Jack pretends he's sick to get out of a date with Linda so he can spend some time with a new girl. He finds that acting ill is harder than it sounds.
19 September 1978Janet is tired of her reliable image so she decides to cut loose and join a demonstration at a nude beach with Mrs. Roper in tow.
26 September 1978Chrissy gets a job typing out an X-rated diary for a client. Things get complicated when Mr. Roper sneaks a peek and assumes that the diary is about Chrissy and her secret lust for the "older man downstairs".
Season 3, Episode 4: The Fast
3 October 1978Jack and Chrissy have a contest to see who can go without the longest. Jack has to abstain from women and Chrissy has to abstain from food.

5 January 1982Trying to impress his "Southern Belle" girlfriend, Arabella, Jack wants to serenade her. He doesn't sing well, so he lip-syncs while Larry does the singing. The problem begins when he throws the rock with a dinner invitation into the wrong girls' apartment window. When Berniece shows up(who is heavy-set and not as pretty as Arabella), Jack is shocked. When Arabella shows up, she is disgusted with the fact that Jack would rather be with Berniece. Instead of hurting Berniece's feelings, he tells Arabella off.

The wig seems to take over as Jenet begins behaving like a stereo-typical dumb blonde around Bill. Will the real Janet stand up or be lost?
4 May 1982Janet is interested in a very well to do man and gets invited to a private party on a small island and will be flown there. She asks Jack to go with her but Jacks afraid to fly. He (foolishly) takes a tranquilizer but drinks at the party as well. A drink called "The Rocket". Along with lying about his profession,he later dances up a storm,making himself & Janet look bad.

But when Furley sees it he takes a liking to it and takes it in. But when an inspector his brother sent to see if all the rules of the building are enforced he hides it. At the same time the cat's owner a little girl comes looking for it and when jack asks for it Furley tells him that he took the cat to the pound. So they each get a cat for the girl. When the inspector arrives they try to hide the cats.
