fun Godzilla madness, 29 June 2008
8/10
Author: Count_Elvis from the castle of freaks, Tryansalabamia

In "Terror of Mechagodzilla" original "Gojira" director Ishiro Honda took the reins of a "Godzilla" movie for the last time, continuing the story of the black hole aliens attempt to conquer earth with the help of Mechagodzilla. This time though they have extra help in the form or Titanosaurus, a huge dragon like dinosaur. This was also the last film of the original series where Godzilla would take a nine year break before returning to his old Tokyo burning bad guy roots in "Godzilla 1985". Anyway, this was one of my favorite "Godzilla" movies as a kid and revisiting it today for the first time in many years it did not disappoint. Godzilla and Mechagodzilla are both cool monsters of course, but I also really enjoyed the newcomer Titanosaurus. He can kick much ass. The battle scenes are very well done and exciting as well, I particularly loved the scene where Titanosaurus picks up Godzilla by his mouth and swings him around. In addition this film is very well photographed and Honda does a fine job making the whole thing very exciting. And of course the "Godzilla's March" them song is very catchy.
