(1974) Following in the footsteps of Irwin Allen, Mark Robson directs and produces his own all-star disaster thriller, this one set in a Los Angeles leveled by an earthquake, which gives Robson a chance to unleash flood, fire and an number of threats on his cast. Charlton Heston, Ava Gardner, George Kennedy, Lorne Greene, Geneviève Bujold and Richard Roundtree headline a cast that also includes Marjoe Gortner, Barry Sullivan, Lloyd Nolan, Victoria Principal, Walter Matthau in an uncredited bit as a drunk. The film also introduced the newest cinema gimmick: Sensurround! The disc features both remastered 5.1 Surround and the original 3.1 Sensurround soundtrack.
