Considered to be the first lesbian love-making film made by a lesbian.
Men were restricted from early screenings of the film.
When director Barbara Hammer finished editing the film, she had edited it to music by Lisa Ben, without her permission. She approached Ben about the use of the songs in the film, but was unable to promise to Ben, a separatist, that men would not see the film. The soundtrack was without the songs for several years until Ben, in a change of heart, granted Hammer the use of the songs.
