  • Anachronisms: The ambush on Buford Pusser and his wife occured in August, 1967. Many of the police cars used in the movie, including the one Pusser has, are 1972 Dodge Polaras.

  • Continuity: When the townspeople arrive at the house and Buford comes down the stairs, the stairs are on the left-hand side. When he opens the door, the stairs are on the right.

  • Crew or equipment visible: The shadow of the boom mic moving on the wall behind Buford in Judge Clarke's chambers when they are discussing the assault on Obra.

  • Revealing mistakes: When Bufford Pusser is being chased by the town's sheriff, the police vehicle flies into a river and explodes. However, the car explodes in mid-air, before it hits the ground.

  • Revealing mistakes: The former sheriff's car explodes before it hits the ground.

  • Revealing mistakes: During the assault on Buford's car, his car sustains numerous stray bullet holes, yet miraculously, not one hits the windshield or windows.

  • Crew or equipment visible: When Buford is "busting up a still", there is a crew member crouched down beside the car.

  • Revealing mistakes: When Buford goes into the Lucky Spot with his stick and begins to hit the men, it is obvious that he is not using a stick to hit them with because the stick if flexible. It appears to be made of foam. In non-contact shots in the scene it is a real stick.

  • Crew or equipment visible: When Pusser is in the morgue you can clearly see a boom coming in from off screen. Then in the next scene outside you again can clearly see a microphone poking up from below.

  • Boom mic visible: When Sheriff Pusser addresses his deputies for the first time outside of the Sheriff's station, there is a boom mic visible at the top of the screen for the entire scene.

  • Continuity: In the final scenes where Sheriff Pusser drives a police car to the Lucky Spot, just before he arrives, in the long shot of him driving down the highway, the patrol car has red lights on it's roof. When he arrives and drives the car through the bar, the car has blue lights.

  • Boom mic visible: When Buford is in the Judge's chambers talking to the Judge you can clearly see the shadow of the boom mic visible on the wall behind him.
