Sex & Nudity

A man is shown having sex with a woman while holding her on a closet : nothing is shown at all, only the pushing. They both moan in pleasure.

A man and woman kisses after their marriage, then the woman shows her breasts completely.

Violence & Gore

A decapitated horses head is shown in a man's bed, the bed is covered in blood, very gory/graphic scene

Luca Brasi is stabbed in the hand and then garroted, very intense

Don Corleone is shot in the back several times, but survives

Michael Corleone shoots Virgil Sollozzo in the head and then shoots Captain McCluskey in the throat and then the head, blood is shown in both instances, quite graphic

Contains a scene of domestic violence between Connie and Carlo featuring an off-camera beating

Sonny starts a fight on Carlo, he punches and kicks him, althought not gory, it is very brutal

A car bomb detonates with Apollonia inside

Sonny is shot to pieces by several tommy gun wielding gangsters, he ends up covered in blood, only to be shot up on the floor and kicked in the face, this is a very intense and gory scene

Don Corleone has a heart-attack in front of his grandson and dies

Near the climax of the movie, all four Don's and Moe Greene are killed in very graphic ways:

- Don Cuneo is trapped in a revolving door and shot repeatedly in the chest by Willie Cicci, blood is shown spraying on the window

- Don Tattaglia is sleeping with a prostitute in bed when two of Corleone's men break down the door and shoot them both with machine guns, blood sprays everywhere

- Don Stracci and some of his associates are shot inside an elevator by Clemenza wielding a shotgun, the deaths are not seen

- Don Barzini is shot in the back by Rocco as he tries to escape, blood is shown pouring out the bullet wound

- One of Corleone's men shoots Moe Greene in the eye and blood continously pours out

Profanity

Contains some occasional mild coarse language, including uses of "bitch", "dick" and infrequent use of ethnic slurs such as "nigger" and "guinea" which are contained within the context of the film.

Contains some casual drinking and smoking.

A drug trafficking theme is also present in the film, however, actual references to drugs are sparring. The use or distribution of illegal drugs is not condoned by the protagonist.

This film is very graphic and contains intense scenes, the scene when the horses head in the bed is shown, is very intense Also, many of the killings may upset younger viewers
