Bless This House is a real curiosity, a huge, sprawling success during it's original run, it has managed to slip so far off the radar that its remembered only hazily, if its recalled at all. Sid, Diana, Sally and Robin spark off each other so brightly that its often much more than cosy nostalgia making you smile, although if you weren't around at the time you may struggle to find a reference point to catapult yourself into their world. The series effectively chronicled the final years of teenage rebellion, and although Sally and Mike may seem tame and lovable, they are far more out there than any schoolgirl mother or binge drinker in your town. Its unlikely that Bless This House will ever be anything more than a half forgotten/half remembered show from back in the day, but that should only make us treasure it that little bit more.
