I can't say I've ever seen another film with Veronica Lake, and this was her last. The box makes a comment about this being her "big comeback", oh my, what a last film to have THAT honor. This is a Z-grade horror film that's delightful to bad movie afficionados like myself, but otherwise I'm sure nobody would find anything to like about this. But how can one not like a movie where plastic surgery is done via maggots? What a concept. What's interesting is that Veronica has rather bad teeth, ugly nasty choppers, and she was a big star? She must have gone to seed before making this, I reckon. Her co-stars (?) pretty much talk and smoke their way through the rest of the picture, and it's not very clear who they are or what their purpose is. Anyway, this will be a delight to bad film fans but no one else will find this to be a forgotten horror gem. It has magnificent unintentional entertainment value. The end is a real shocker too, a twist, if you will, that will have you either amazed or laughing your head off. Definitely will not be to most anyone's taste.
