The soundtrack was composed by Pink Floyd. The band was given £600 and complete ownership to all of the material for their work, and some of the songs on the album were still in their live set list by 1971. The band also scored the music for another Barbet Schroeder film, The Valley (Obscured by Clouds) (1972).
When Estelle and Stefan are in her hotel in Paris and she puts on her record player an alternative version of the song "Cymbaline" can be heard. It sounds different than the one included by Pink Floyd in their soundtrack album "More".
Director Barbet Schroeder used the principal location of this film again in Amnesia (2015): The white house at the sea near Sant Antoni de Portmany, Ibiza was built in 1935 and acquired by Schroeder's mother in 1951. She lived there for over 20 years.
In the Paris hotel room scene when Estelle first rolls a joint for Stefan, the album cover she uses to lay out her stash is "Child Is Father to the Man", the 1968 debut album from Blood Sweat & Tears.
