  Zatoichi : At first I remembered all the colors - green, red, and so forth. I told myself I had to remember them and tried hard not to forget. But they gradually faded away. All that's left now is darkness.

  Zatoichi : Darkness makes no difference to a blind man.

• Zatoichi : I came back from hell to get you. They won't let me across the River of the Three Crossings without you. The Lord of Hell is waiting for you.

• Zatoichi : I want you to tell Boss Matsugoro that Zatoichi came by to say hello.

• Zatoichi : [while massaging]  Your muscles feel pretty loose tonight.

  Dr. Junan : Thanks to you. You're very good. You shouldn't have to wander backwaters like this for work.

  Zatoichi : Always being on the road means I occasionally get to rub the shoulders of great men like you.

  Dr. Junan : You're really laying it on thick tonight.
