Sex & Nudity

  • As the astronauts find water, they take off their clothes, as they jump into the water, they are naked but you mostly just see their butts (backside).
  • Towards the end of the movie, Taylor's clothing is removed and you can see his backside (butt) naked.
  • At a point in the film, our main human male character is completely naked, seen from the front, with his genitalia only covered by his hands. The coverage is not very good, however, because we can see his testes...
  • The main male (human) character is topless throughout most of the movie, and the main female (human) character is in a very, very skimpy outfit with lots of tears in it, low-cut front and a short length.
  • Several (human) male backsides/bottoms are seen throughout the film.

Violence & Gore

  • A few gun battles, fought between humans and apes. A few apes are shot, but no blood.
  • In one scene, ape cavalry charge out wielding rifles and start shooting random humans. A character is shot through the head (blood). Another character is shot through the neck (blood splatters). Several humans are shot into the river. The apes proceed to use clubs and whips to beat several humans to death, and capture others.
  • The apes terrorize humans by spraying hoses onto them, and the humans cry out in pain.
  • The apes beat the main character several times, using clubs and their fists. He tries to fight back but yells with every blow.
  • A human takes an ape captive and holds a gun to his head.

Profanity

  • 10 uses of 'Damn; (1 paired with 'God') 3 uses of 'Hell' 1 use of 'oh my God' and 1 use of 'Bloody'.

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

  • Some of the apes smoke pipes

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • One character has surgery to remove his brain. While it is not shown on camera we see the stitches and the character looking disabled.
  • If this movie was released today, it would be rated PG-13 for violence, language, and partial nudity.
  • Nothing too frightening or intense here, except where the apes massacre, beat up and/or whip humans.
  • The apes enjoy spraying helpless humans with hoses, and the humans cry out in pain.
  • There is one scene of a dead corpse that has shrivelled up and looks decayed near the beginning. It may be creepy to some.
