We’ve interviewed members of the Zombie Research Society in the past, letting our readers know about the medical side of a zombie outbreak. Today, I have a recent interview I conducted with the Zombie Research Society’s founder Matt Mogk.
Aside from Zrs, you might also recognize him from his appearance on Talking Dead or his recently published book, Everything You Ever Wanted to Know About Zombies. Continue reading to learn about helping the Zombie Research Society, the story behind Night of the Living Dead‘s title change, and more:
For those who are unfamiliar with the Zombie Research Society, can you tell me more about the website, your goals, and why you decide to start Zrs?
Matt Mogk: The stated goal of Zombie Research Society is to advance zombie knowledge and respect in the arts and sciences. On the science side, we don’t make anything up.

I have so much love for Warner Bros. right now. Their whole Warner Archive project has been an absolute home run for fans, and it isn’t just ultra-rare titles finally seeing video. The studio has started sharing images from the past, joining Universal in culling the vaults to shed further light on favorite faces, films, and events.
Today, Warner shared this stunning shot of actress Anita Ekberg. No location or date is provided, other than a note that it is from the fifties, but it appears to be some sort of promotional event.
Ekberg is no stranger to the Famous Monsters set, having appeared in Abbott And Costello Go To Mars (’53), Screaming Mimi (’58), Way…Way Out (’66), Fangs Of The Living Dead (’69), The French Sex Murders (’71), The Killer Nun (’79).
Not major news, but a little something to make today even more beautiful than it already was. Thank you Warner!

Written and directed by Mario Caiano, The Faceless Monster (1965) is an Italian horror movie that was released in the United States with the original title Nightmare Castle. Upon its release to video it was given the different title. Although in my opinion, The Faceless Monster doesn’t fit the movie and is a bit misleading as to the subject matter.
The movie stars Barbara Steele in a dual role—as Muriel, the wife of scientist Stephen Arrowsmith (Paul Muller) and Jenny, Muriel’s step-sister. Muriel is having an affair with the handyman David (Rik Battaglia) and one night they are caught red-handed by Stephen. With the help of his loyal housekeeper Solange (Helga Line), Stephen kills Muriel and David, removing their hearts and using their blood for some experiments involving a youth serum.
Muriel was the one with the money and before her death...
