Von Ryan's Express is a 1964 novel by American novelist David Westheimer (1917-2005). The novel was adapted for the screen by Hollywood screenwriters Wendell Mayes and Joseph Landon.
They were filmed in El Chorro, a region of Málaga, Spain, where the train weaves in and out of the gorge through about eight kilometers of tunnels.
