Produced for the Johnson's Wax Pavilion at the 1964-65 New York World's Fair. It was also screened at the United Nations Pavilion at Expo '67. In June 2005 the restored version debuted at the S.C Johnson headquarters in Racine, Wisconsin, where it shows daily (free admission, reservations required) in the original theatre, moved from the New York World's Fair site.
This film was one of the best experiences at the New York World's Fair. It was shown on three screens that were side by side, with a small separation between them, (unlike Cinerama which slightly overlapped the images.) Within minutes, most viewers stopped noticing the separations, but took in the entire 3-screen wide image as if it was one. The best part of the film by far was the "soapbox derby" go-cart run down a steep hill. The camera presented a "driver's point-of-view" of the entire run. As it turned right and left following the curves of the street, the entire audience would lean right and left accordingly.
