Sex & Nudity

  • There is a little of verbal sexual teasing in the first few scenes. Kids won't get it, and it's all over fast.

Violence & Gore

  • A bomb drops, which is what awakens Gamera.
  • Gamera knocks over buildings, people are crushed to death, but nothing is ever graphic.
  • Most of the violence is typical 50-60's giant monster film violence. There's no blood, gore, or anything too disturbing.
  • Gamera knocks over a lighthouse while a boy hangs from it. He falls off, but Gamera saves him.

Profanity

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

  • There is some smoking.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • The film tries to be serious, but ends up being unintentionally funny.
  • A boy almost falls off of a lighthouse, but Gamera saves him by catching him upon falling.
  • People are seen being crushed to death in crumbling buildings. Not graphic.
  • A boy is forced to give up his pet turtle, which he adores.
  • Gamera may be frightening to some little kids, especially his roar. However, the idea of a giant, bipedal, flying, fire-breathing turtle is so silly viewers may not help but laugh.
