Since the beliefs that parents want to instill in their children can vary greatly, we ask that, instead of adding your personal opinions about what is right or wrong in a film, you use this feature to help parents make informed viewing decisions by describing the facts of relevant scenes in the title for each one of the different categories: Sex and Nudity, Violence and Gore, Profanity, Alcohol/Drugs/Smoking, and Frightening/Intense Scenes.

Sex & Nudity

A woman is shown standing around in a bikini. It is apparent that she and the general are having an affair and that he intends to have sex with her when he gets back.

At the end, Dr. Strangelove suggests that after the nuclear explosion to restore the population there will have to be a ratio of 10 women to each men, much to many of the men's approval.

The bomb looks awfully phallic.

A man talks about women taking his "essence". (Semen)

Violence & Gore

There are scenes of nuclear explosions.

There is also a suicide, not shown on screen. It is almost a punchline.

Profanity

very mild profanities such as 'damn'

This is a black comedy about accidental use of atomic bombs. Some scenes of nuclear explosions could be frightening for younger children.
