• Anachronisms: Set in 1931, a newspaper is paid for by a Jefferson-head nickel, first issued in 1938.
  
  
• Anachronisms: 1950s-era taxis and other vehicles appear in rear projection footage of city streets seen in the rear window of Dave's limousine.
  
  
• Anachronisms: Hope "Queenie" Lange is wearing 1950s stiletto heels.
  
  

• Factual errors: While walking past Broadway Theater, Apple Annie hollers good luck "tonight" to unseen Tallulah Bankhead, presumably on that evening's opening of a play. However, Bankhead did not appear on Broadway from 1922-1933 and movie is set in 1931.
  
  
• Anachronisms: In photo that looks like one of Ann-Margret's publicity glossies of the era, Apple Annie's daughter wears her hair in style from late Fifties-early Sixties - not in a short bob that a fashionable young woman would wear in 1931.
  
  
• Anachronisms: During the police escort to the boat in the last few minutes of the movie, a 1949 Cadillac can be seen in the rear window of the car the governor is riding in on the right side of his head. The movie is set in 1930's
  
  
• Continuity: In the scene where Dave the Dude is asked to be godfather to Ann-Margret's first child, Hope Lange's black dress is unzipped in the back when she is on her way up to the door, and then zipped at the end of same scene.
