Sex & Nudity

  • The closest this gets to hinting about the premarital sex which probably occurs twice is a passionate kiss and the opportunity. No nudity.
  • On their first date, woman goes back to man's apartment, he tries to seduce her but she leaves. Several minutes later, she returns. Gallantly however, he offers to drive her home as being the proper decision.
  • On their second brief date, they sneak into her college dorm but are caught kissing in the elevator. She is then expelled from college for not being a "nice" girl, and her mother is devastated. Boyfriend admits to her father nothing happened in the elevator; but, he asks her father to help him maintain his male "reputation" by nothing getting out about him not scoring (double standard, anyone?).

  • During this war-time romance, she becomes pregnant but does not tell the boyfriend for fear he'd feel obligated to marry her. Then when his plane crashes and he's killed, she marries her ex-boyfriend, who was dating her best friend. She never tells him the true father of child born.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • At the end of the film, Eloise (Susan Hayward) makes the heart-wrenching decision to leave her husband, and consequently her daughter. This scene is quite intense.
