I wouldn't call this the adverage Wilder film, Crosby and Fontaine especially don't make a truly convincing couple, Joan Fontaine often acting slightly cold to him. Although the film is not a complete masterpiece it makes enjoyable viewing for all, an ideal film to watch if you need cheering up! Fontaine plays a snooty countess with a marriage arrangment all prepared, for her dog! Crosby is a quick talking salesman trying to sale his new product to the emperor of Austria, romance occurs between the two of them, and their own dogs. A series of farce events occur between the two which provide the humour before the final fade out. Look out for cute little puppies!
