The men's hairstyles shown are those of the 1940s filming period rather than the 1870's setting of the film.
The clothing in the film is not period correct. This includes full front button shirts for men, hats which were not made (nor in fashion) at that time and pants with belt loops which were not common until after WWI.
Pane glass windows are used instead of the more common "wave" glass of the era or shutters.
