This was the first George Formby film I had ever seen. I was a fan of his music beforehand and when I caught this film on TV, I couldn't believe my luck!
When I saw the film though I was a little disappointed, because I felt the film did drag on a little bit and the humour was a bit dated.
The experience was still worth it though. If I had not seen the film, I would not have known what it had to offer, as with other films.
In this film in particular, George finds himself in the navy and the trouble he gets into is not your average light hearted theme, which I believe has spoilt it.
In other Formby films, he is well better placed in situations but here I do not believe he was well placed for the role.
I'm sure other viewers of the film will understand.
