The scene of Bell and Scoop in the car and getting fired upon by a gangster in a different car alternates between night-time and daytime several times between shots.
In the flashback scene of "Dapper Dan" Malloy being found dead in his cell; you can see Malloy's dead body breathing.
When the Warden asks the reporters if they have any other questions, one of the reporters says, "I got all I want, thank you, Warden". But on the next immediate cut which is a reverse shot, that same dialog is being repeated by the reporter.
When Bell and Scoop's car crashes down the hillside; there are several rollovers and Bell manages to climb out of the wreck. However, there are no indications that Bell had been in a serious crash. He has no injuries and his hat remains on his head. It is highly unlikely that Bell would survive a major crash and walk away without a scratch.
For a henchman already connected to three murders, Mike inexplicably runs after shooting through a window at Bert and Irene, who are standing on the other side of a large room. The criminally logical thing to do would have been to charge through the front door and make sure the unarmed reporter and housewife were dead and shoot them again if not. Instead, the unsuccessful attack confirmed Bert's suspicion that Dan was murdered and allowed Bert to solve the mystery.
