Not among the studio's best...but still enjoyable.

In the late 1930s and well into the 1940s, Looney Tunes made quite a few documentary style cartoons. Each was filled with lame jokes that came one after the other and a narrator introduces each segment of the cartoon. For the most part, these are inoffensive but not hilarious.

The style of "The Bug Parade" is exactly what you'd expect in such a cartoon...with a few jokes that fall flat (those involving the ants) and a few which don't.

Most of the current U.S. Cabinet Secretaries are caricatured here . . .

Warning: Spoilers
. . . during Warner Bros.' THE BUG PARADE, intended--as famed Looney Tunes director Chuck Jones once said during an interview--as a warning to We Americans of (The Then) Far Future. It goes without saying that Warner's team of prophetic prognosticators, often referred to as their crack Animated Shorts Seers division (aka, the Looney Tuners) have been documented by specialists in the History Field as having proved far more accurate in their forecasts and cautions when compared to the ravings of that over-rated clown, Nostradamus. So it comes as no surprise for Today's viewers in-the-know to see Red Commie KGB Chief Vlad "The Mad Russian" Putin's Secretary of Miseducation, Billionairess Betsy "Amway Calling" DeVos, depicted as a Tiny-Waisted Wasp who soon blows out her girdle. The Terrible Termite, of course, is meant to be none other than Putin's Czar of the U.S. Environmental Pollution Agency, Scott Pruitt. Warner uses "The Common Cootie" to warn us about the Coming of Secretary of Ill-Health Tom "The Price" is Wrong. The housefly spying on us with millions of eyes signifies Putin's Eye in America's skies, KKK Grand Wizard Beauregard Sessions. The dimmed firefly who sent all the funds on hand to pay the electric bill to Putin's Oligarchs in Russia is surely U.S. Treasury Looter-in-Chief Steve Mnuchin, while the pair of caterpillars shaking hands with each other surely represent the rampant Rump\Kushner Crime Syndicate Family Nepotism plaguing the Putin Administration. The final insect, a bellowing spider with a grating voice, man-handling a defenseless female, constitutes a spot-on send up of Putin's puppet himself, self-confessed U.S. Serial-Finger-Rapist-in-Chief, Don Juan Rump!
