Snidely Whiplash of the Yukon
bkoganbing1 April 2019
Courage Of The North has Mountie John Preston in charge of a small detachment of RCMP in the Yukon saving June Love from drowning. She's the little Nell of the piece.

The man who owns the local trading post Tom London has been exploiting the fur trappers outrageously. But in the case of trapper William Desmond he's got something worth more than money for him, the virtue and beauty of his daughter. Women are kind of scarce in the Yukon and she is a pretty thing.

This is the kind of story that played on the Cotton Blossom as Captain Andy sailed up and down the Mississippi in Showboat. A very old fashioned Victorian morality play. If veteran western player Tom London had a mustache he'd be twirling those whiskers.

From poverty row Empire Pictures it's got nice outdoor location scenery to recommend it. That's about all.

I saw another in this planned series of Mountie films. At least in this one the dog and horse don't steal the show.
