Geoffrey Cole : Well, the only precious metal that I know of that might belong to Mr. Lawrence is the prize he won for painting last year.
Augustus Merrick : There you are!
Laura Merrick : Isn't that wonderful. He guessed it in three questions. How ever did you do it?
Laura Merrick : [to Augustus] Now, Augustus Merrick, aren't you ashamed that you called him an idiot?
Laura Merrick : [seeing the looking on Geoffrey's face] oh, oh, oh, it's a very popular game. Everyone's playing it all over New York.
Augustus Merrick : Laura, you're a dunce!
Laura Merrick : How dare you insinuate I'm a dunce. You called him an idiot, you know you did.
Laura Merrick : [Geoffrey starts to walk away] Oh, don't go, Geoffrey.
Laura Merrick : [to Augustus] Now you've hurt his feelings.
Augustus Merrick : I done no such thing. You called him an idiot twice.
Laura Merrick : I was only repeating what you said. And I covered it up beautifully. He never would have noticed if you'd kept quiet. Would you Geoffrey?
