Contrary to popular belief, the film's AFI catalog entry does not contain errors but rather reflects the names and roles of characters in the film's original theatrical release cut. The film was re-titled when it was re-distributed. The IMDB cast list reflects the re-release, not the original cast of characters.
The entry on this one in The American Film Institute Catalog of Feature Films 1921-1930 contains several errors: According to AFI, Leatrice Joy is Joan Wainwright, Nicholas's neglected wife. Not so! She is Joan WHIPPLE, Nicholas's neglected fiancée. They remain unmarried throughout the film, although the ending has the obvious, familiar, implication. Meanwhile, Joan has 3 gormless suitors: Lincoln Stedman: "Angel Burton from Sandusky" (NOT "The Cherub" as per AFI,) Frank Butler: "Georgie Waddams of London" (NOT "Freddie" Waddams as per AFI,) and Neely Edwards: "Alphonse Vichy of Paris" (NOT "Pierre, the pet of the boulevards" as per AFI); Snitz Edwards (not mentioned in AFI) is identified by name on an inter-title & plays "Selim - of the tribe of Twin Bedouins", one of the key supporting characters. In the Egyptian sequence, which begins with reel #3, and ends in reel #4, Burns also plays the Pharaoh's younger brother, Aziru, and Joy also plays the Pharaoh's "intended", Princess Herath.
