This Dinky Doodle cartoon begins with Dinky and Pete the Pup helping Walter Lantz get into a corset. Walter then puts on a Cleopatra outfit and leaves, presumably for a costume party. I certainly hope so. It gives Dinky nightmares and he dreams he is in Egypt.
Cartoons, of course, are not a place where one hopes for accuracy of imagery, and even less so in a cartoon dream, so once we get past the Sphinx, camels, people walking sideways and mummies, we get into a trope from BEN-HUR, in which Dinky gets into a chariot race with a mummy. The result is competent, rather than inspired; gag set-ups are repeated for different punchlines instead of choosing the best one and coming up with another gag. The resulting cartoon is decent but no more.
