According to her biography by Stephen Bach, in 1924 while waiting for a train to take her to a doctor's appointment, 22 year-old Leni Riefenstahl spotted a poster for this film on the wall. She stared at it for so long that she missed her train and went to see the movie rather than her doctor. The film so mesmerized her that it inspired her to get into films. Later she became the lover of the film's star Luis Trenker and made many films under the direction of this film's director Arnold Fanck.
