Jackie Lost John Ford Directed Film
PamelaShort16 January 2015
Russian orphan Jackie ( Shirley Mason ) lives in London and studies dance. She is noticed by wealthy young American Mervyn Carter, ( William Scott ) who is struck by her talent and makes an appointment to see her. Meantime, Jackie's teacher apprentices her to Bill Bowman ( Harry Carter ) manager of a troupe of strolling players. Jackie befriends Benny ( Georgie Stone ) a crippled boy, and when Bowman attempts to assault her, the two run away to London. To make some money, Benny plays an accordion and Jackie dances. Mervyn discovers them and sends Benny to the hospital for an operation and arranges to have Jackie trained for a stage career. She becomes very successful and now Bowman demands that she fulfill her contract with him, then threatens to kill Carter, now her fiancé. She tries to buy off Bowman and is rescued by Carter, who punishes Bowman and throws him out. Benny regains his health and Jackie and Mervyn happily marry.

This drama/romance directed by John Ford (as Jack Ford) for the Fox Film Corporation , is now sadly a lost silent film.
