- Reporter Steve Hurley is happy when he hears that Crystal McCoy, star of the burlesque show, is to be replaced by her predecessor, Dolly Devoe. Steve hopes Crystal will marry him and give up the stage. But Crystal is unhappy about it, as is show manager Joe Nolan, for he also likes her. It is obvious that he is being forced to put Dolly back in the show. And there is also Blossom Terraine who wants the star role and is using her suitor Chick Malloy, the comedian of the show to back her. Dolly arrives in a snit and immediately starts a quarrel with Crystal. And Dolly's day gets worse when Lola Cassell shows up and accuses Dolly of having driven to suicide the man they both loved. Dolly's bad day ends when Annie, the wardrobe woman who idolizes Crystal, finds her strangled body in a dressing room trunk. The first person Inspector Crowley suspects is Chick, for he had been overheard in an incriminating conversation with Blossom. Then he turns to Crystal, as the result of a threat she had made, plus he learns that a story Steve is writing revolves around the finding of a strangled body in a trunk. To complete the Inspector's own bad day, albeit somewhat better than Dolly's, he finds out that Lola had visited Dolly in her dressing room, and that Chick is blackmailing Nolan into putting Blossom in the starring role and has evidence that Nolan had also been in Dolly's dressing room in between the other traffic. THEN, Annie, fearing that Crystal will be arrested, confesses to the murder. The police do not believe her, and give orders that nobody is to leave the theatre until the murderer is found which, based on the number of suspects, gives no indication of happening anytime soon. The list is narrowed when Lola is found dead in a phone booth, with a knife thrust in her back. And while he is questioning the rest of the group in Nolan's office, the lights go out, and Blossom exits stage left by being murdered. Chick accuses Nolan, who admits he was also in Dolly's dressing room - who wasn't - only because she was blackmailing him but she was alive when he left. A shot rings out in Crystal's dressing room, where they find Annie in a faint, but unharmed by the bullet. An inspection of the room shows that Annie fired the bullet at herself, and Steve's adroit questioning tricks Annie into confessing that she was the killer, the crimes being committed as the result of a homicidal mania induced by Annie's intense love for Crystal, who she mistakenly believes to be her daughter.

Explore a world that people only dream about as you are introduced to Performers, Stage Kittens and Pandas. Enjoy the hotter than lava performances directly from the famous stages of Honolulu, Hawaii! This is not your Grandma's Hula. Director Statement This is not about the history of burlesque. It would take an entire series of films to do the entire history of burlesque. The history of burlesque in Hawaii specifically with its diverse cultures and military influences with political turmoil and its isolated location and self sustainment and meaningfulness in the universe juxtaposed with the taboo of nudity and performance is just the backdrop to the artists that have taken in all of this history and have created something beautiful. This film is about burlesque here in Hawaii now with all of these amazing performers. A glimpse into this world that people can only dream of being invited to. A wild crazy adventure with passionate skilled sexy creatives in the amazing setting, of paradise itself. This film is about Panda Sal and Madame X and everyone in the scene. How they heard about burlesque, how they became involved, and how it has changed their lives. Empowerment. Vulnerability. Love. Acceptance. My ultimate goal with this film is for someone's conservative granny or uncle or whatever to see this film and think, "Hey you know, it's really not what I had thought it was. It's actually beautiful. I think I might want to see my granddaughter's show". Or maybe "I think I want to take a Burlesque class". I really want to make a change in people's lives and help the people you love that may not understand to open up and experience the joy of burlesque too.

- A traveler is lost in the streets of Paris. Finally discovering where he is, he walks hurriedly away, but is accosted by a beggar, who has lost both feet and is crawling along the ground. Annoyed, he turns away, only to be met by another beggar similarly afflicted. Every way he turns he finds someone in his path, until he is surrounded by a bunch of hungry beggars, who, when feeling safe that the gendarmes are not near, rise to their feet and proceed to strip the traveler of his clothes. It is plain to be seen that the beggars are by no means cripples and that their deformity is only a sham to provoke pity of the passer-by. After robbing the man of all he had, one of the fellows places a bucket over his head and jams it down so tight that he cannot remove it, and one and all dance away, leaving our traveler alone. A number of female students pass by and are frightened by the man's antics. Finally he removes the bucket from his head, and at the same time the gendarmes make their appearance, but he is in such rage that he throws them to the ground, thinking they are his persecutors. They finally land him, and he is marched to the lock-up. This is comical and exciting.

- It opens with a motley quartet of musicians inflicting the torture of their music on a law abiding citizen, marching into the yard of his home and stationing themselves beneath his window to do so. He eloquently voices his dissatisfaction by pouring a pitcher full of water into the horn of the big bass. The musicians retreat from the yard, but soon return for vengeance. They place their instruments on the ground, and soon succeed in dragging the water-spiller from his house, where he conducts an upholstery business. They throw him to the ground and three of them pile his own pillows and sheets on him, while the fourth turns the water pump on the entire effect: then they run. The chase leads through a number of comical situations, a frenzied, howling populace, headed by a few courageous gendarmes being the pursuers. The climax of the pursuit is reached when the musical fugitives seek refuge in what is still standing of a building in the course of demolition, The pursuers follow, when suddenly a wall topples and the next second there is an avalanche of debris, rocks timber, etc. The next picture now shows the funeral of one of the gendarmes who was killed in the wreck. Apparently the musicians' human feelings of brotherhood have overcome them, for they are now seen, with their instruments, at the head of the procession, which consists of a motley assemblage, in single file, of humans shaped in all the various forms that Nature ever attempted. including such artificial addition as red noses. Everybody is weeping, and there seems to be some competition for the largest handkerchief. The musicians strike their notes, and the funeral march follows, the grotesque mourners stepping as if their legs were made of dough, and were moved by machinery which at that time happens to be out of order,
