Two wanderers happen by as night falls, and having no place to lodge they pick out this very desirable looking old house as a place to rest and spend a quiet night. Upon entering the castle they soon discover that they are sadly disappointed in their choice, for immediately they see all sorts of strange objects dancing around them and grotesque spook faces gazing at them from every nook and corner. Too late to retrace their steps, the pair enter the old deserted dining-room, where, standing in the corner, is a closet copiously filled with rare edibles. As they are about to help themselves a lot of fierce looking animals come from the closet and proceed to make life unbearable for the distressed guests. The pair rush into the kitchen and there they meet his Satanic Majesty, who does some of his fine work and calls forth more ferocious beasts, and things are reaching a serious state in the place when, behold, the good Fairy Queen appears and changes everything into the sublime. The animals are all transformed into gallant knights and by a wave of the magic wand a group of pretty maidens appear and the old deserted castle is turned into a most hospitable place where the weary old travelers take advantage of all the courtesy showered upon them.

- A witch, upset with a man who yelled at her, places a curse on his box of matches that turns him into a skeleton.
- During a conjuring entertainment, the magician borrows a silk hat, and forthwith produces the usual conjurer's stock-in-trade, ducks, pigeons, rabbits, etc. With a bow he hands the hat back to its owner, who shortly afterwards leaves. As he walks away his hat lakes a leap and gently bowls off down the street. It is captured at last, and our friend's troubles begin. He meets various people and on each occasion, as he raises his hat, chickens, rabbits and pigeons, to say nothing of plants, spring out. Unkindly enough the gentleman's friends quickly depart, leaving him bewildered. The climax comes when visiting a lady's house and waiting for its fair occupant. As our friend, hat in hand, looks round, a small statue together with the hat, suddenly disappears, and the gentleman is not long in following its example.

- The pretty Queen of the Fairies comes to grief. She steps into an ugly bear trap in the woods. On the old farm, Tom, the son of a neighboring farmer, is having his troubles in his wooing of Sally. Her father cannot "see" Tom. Poor Tom wanders off into the woods. He hears the distressful cries of the Queen of the Fairies, who still is held by the trap. Tom effects her release and the grateful Fairy bestows on him the magic whistle. "In time of stress this whistle will bring me to your aid," she tells him. Tom's longing for Sally takes him back to the farm. From a place of concealment he witnesses her father's attempts to make her accept the attention of Silas, a rich old codger. Sally, in a mighty indignant frame of mind, escapes and bumps into Tom. The young couple decide then and there to hurry to a minister and be married. But the chagrined Silas sees them going and calls the attention of Sally's father, who, infuriated, starts out in pursuit. The frightened lovers are nearly caught when Tom thinks of his magic whistle. He loses no time in blowing it. The Queen of the Fairies hears the distress signal. In her magic pool she sees a vision of his predicament. She quickly transports herself to the scene of the trouble and arrives just in the nick of time. She takes the lovers to her pool in the mountains and allows them to watch the visions in the pool which clearly reflect the dire distress of Dad and Silas. Finally they see the thoroughly frightened pair fall into the bear trap and become firmly caught.
- A band of smugglers comes upon a customs agent at his post. To distract his attention, they send one of the women to seduce him. While he is otherwise engaged, they sneak past him.
- Having stolen a rabbit, the thief is exerting every effort to make good his escape. A messenger's tricycle delivery cart is used as a hiding place, but unfortunately the vehicle starts off with its human cargo. In the flight through the streets it interrupts a wedding march, a troop of soldiers, a party at luncheon and a squad of officers, causing havoc in each instance, and finally ends its course in the river, where the thief is apprehended. The messenger takes charge of his cart.
