- It tells the story of Leander Lost, an exceptional inspector who is autistic. Lost is transferred to the small fishing town of Fuseta. He has to try somehow to fit into the new team.
- The German Europol Commissioner Leander Lost is now an integral part of Fuseta's Policia Judicária. When his colleague Teresa disappears without a trace, he urges the new boss with all his might to look for her. The evidence points to a kidnapping. The highly intelligent Asperger's autistic person's knowledge of statistics doesn't bode well: there's little time left to find her alive. Video footage from a parking garage leads to a suspect who rented a car under a false name. Whatever the case, Theresa's kidnapping is just the beginning. Meanwhile, Lost's colleague Duarte looks after the Angolan journalist Flores Yola, who enjoys personal protection during her visit to Portugal. No one at the Fuseta Police Department knows why their safety is at risk.
- While hunting for his colleague's murderer, Inspector Leander Lost comes to a surprising conclusion: the main suspect, Pedro Lino, is not the accomplice of the mysterious Ricardo Torres, but a victim himself. Together with sub-inspectors Graciana Rosado and Carlos, he comes up with a way to secretly meet Lino. Now the investigators learn that Lino's wife and daughter are in Torres' power. He belongs to an organization of "shadows", a secret society of former agents whose clients enriched themselves from Angola's natural resources even after the end of the colonial era and formed a corruption network that reached the highest levels. In order to prevent her from being exposed, Torres is planning an assassination attempt on the Angolan journalist Flores Yola, who is in Fuseta under the protection of the Policia Judicária. Lost and his colleagues are unable to intervene out of concern for the hostages. But Torres knows that the police are on him. As the attack gets closer and closer, the dangerous game of cat and mouse continues to escalate.
- Who is behind the murder of a blackmailing private detective? And what role does the local drinking water supplier's questionable business play? The Hamburg commissioner Lost, who is doing a Europol exchange year in Fuseta, and his local colleagues have no starting point for the loose ends of the mysterious case. The victim's contact with the also dead environmental activist Pinto, which Graciana and Carlos came across, puts the investigators on a new track. In order to find out whether the woman really - as determined by Sub-Inspector Duarte - had an accident or was murdered, the trio must question Zara's only relative. In order for Pinto's daughter to talk to them, the investigators take the rebellious teenager out of the home and put her up at the Soraia resort. No one suspects the danger the young witness will soon be in. Lost's suspicion that a colleague must be involved also complicates the search for the culprit. In order to expose the corrupt police officer, the trio sets a trap for him.
