- Govert Miereveld is a schoolteacher who has an unhealthy obsession with Fran, one of his students. On the day of Fran's graduation, Govert decides that he needs to tell her.
- Tony is a homosexual law student who quits his studies. With a van and a handful of cash, he hits the road hoping to become a salesman. This, however, turns out to be harder than he expected.

The future could be a digitally supercharged version of the distant past: ancient Egypt multiplied by the power of Facebook.

Each time the lights change, we see a different phase of their story. At first they both sing along to the car radio, then they fall in love and, finally, their love dies. It seems like the wind is always blowing from the same direction and the grass always stays the same colour green. On one day his sister who lives in a village in the south of Spain, called Villa de Ves, calls him up. She tries to convince him to leave his safe surroundings and move to Spain to live with her. Finally, he makes an important decision: he is going to his sister in Spain. But what will he do with his little tiny tobacco store? And does he have enough perseverance to make his little dream come true?
