- The Christmas show opens with Cher singing White Christmas and segueing into We Need a Little Christmas. After introducing the show, she puts on a beard to play Santa to daughter Chastity (now Chaz Bono). Then the Hudson Brothers sing Here Comes Santa Clause to introduce a comedy skit of a court case involving the characters from 'Twas The Night Before Christmas, with Redd Foxx as the judge. This is followed by another skit featuring Cher visited by some ghosts of sailors a la Dickens' A Christmas Carol. Then is a dialogue with Redd Foxx who delivers an inspired Christmasmas wish for all the bigots of the world. Cher tells about prolific song writer Alfred S. Burt and introduces the Lennon Sisters singing one of his songs and then follows by singing another one herself. Redd Foxx solos in a skit as an elf in Santa's workshop after which Cher plays a rude and unresponsive returns clerk in a store. Everybody joins in a skit with songs in a 1920s holiday ballroom setting including Chastity tap dancing and closing with the entire group singing Silent Night.

- Cher's guest Lily Tomlin appears as telephone operator Ernestine then engages in a humorous chat with the host. David Groh, Cher, and Lily perform in several skits. The Jackson 5 sing "I Am Love" and "The World is a Mess."
- Cher performs the song "Satisfaction." Nancy Walker gives a monologue on the difficulties of a circus fat lady. Liberace opens his extravagant house and gives a tour of the place
- In a parody of the hit TV series "Welcome Back Kotter" (1975) Dion, Frankie Avalon and Franke Valli join Cher as wisecracking High School classmates.
- Cher welcomes guest Jerry Lewis who's his usual frantic self as a Jewish sheriff and a put upon movie goer. Cher performs the hit "Rhinestone Cowboy." David Essex sings "Hold Me Close."
- Cher and her guests salute the American hamburger.
- Cher as Laverne daydreams that she has her own variety show. Wayne Newton covers the tune "Feelings. Cher performs her hit "Witchy Woman." The Spinners sing "Can't Believe I'm Falling in Love."
- Guest Ted Knight sings a humorous song "I'm in Love with Barbara Walters." The Smothers Brothers take part in a comedic prison sketch.
- Cher welcomes guest Ray Charles who sings "Livin' for the City." Cher joins him a medley of hit tunes. Cher teams up with Kermit the Frog for "That Old Black Magic."
- Cher performs "Sweet Georgia Brown." Glen Campbell sings "Country Boy." Cher and Hal Linden spoof Jeanette Mcdonald and Nelson Eddy. Cher tries to get a date for Gladys(Ruth Buzzi,)
- Cher sings the theme to Sesame Street and "When You Wish Upon a Star." The Hudson Brothers portray court jesters who are desperate to entertain a bored princess. Illusionist Mark Wilson performs.
- Cher welcomes guests who join her in a production number of "Top Hat." Cher sings "You're Nobody 'til Somebody Loves You." Cher portrays Norma Jean Brodie who is an imperfect spokesperson.
- Guests Red Foxx and Ted Knight. Skits on cafe with bottomless coffee, and two unsuccessful writers. Labelle sings Lady Marmalade.
- Billy Swann performs his hit "I Can Help." Cher is joined by guests Kris Kristofferson and Rita Coolidge to sing "Help Me Make It Through the Night."
