- Immensely talented and instantly recognizable, Peter Jeffrey was one of a great generation of British actors who were comfortable in everything from classical theatre to television comedy. He was born in Bristol, England in 1929 and went on to be educated at Harrow school. He studied at Pembroke College, Cambridge and embarked on a career as an actor. During his distinguished and diverse stage career, he worked with all of the great British theatre companies and performed with the likes of Peggy Ashcroft, Marius Goring, Paul Scofield, Eric Porter and Peter O'Toole.
His opportunities in television and film always seemed to come in the form of supporting roles but his rare talent always brightened the screen. Peter Jeffrey was still acting in the final years of his life, including a wonderful BBC adaptation of The Prince and the Pauper (1996). He was greatly respected in the industry for his quiet professionalism and the empathy he had for other actors and the support he gave to less experienced colleagues. His death from cancer at the age of 70 in 1999 robbed British acting of one of its finest and most reliable performers. - Actor

Federico Arturo Guízar Tolentino was born on April 8, 1908, in Guadalajara, Mexico. Over the objections of his father, he trained early as a singer and, as such, was sent to New York in 1929 to record the songs of Agustín Lara. While there he had a radio show, "Tito Guízar y su Guitar", and studied opera. In 1932 he married another Mexican singer, Carmen Noriega. He performed both operatic and Mexican cowboy songs at Carnegie Hall. His 1936 movie Out on the Big Ranch (1936) launched the singing cowboy film in Mexico and succeeded as well in the United States. From there he went to Hollywood, playing with such stars as Roy Rogers, Dorothy Lamour and Mae West. He continued playing series parts in Mexican television well into the 1990s. Tito Guízar died at age 91, survived by a son, two daughters and five grandchildren.- Zulema Esther Gonzalez Borbon was born in Buenos Aires on October 17, 1920. She began working as a model when she was in her teens and, at the same time, she became an extra in cheap movies. She was given more important roles in a modest studio called EFA-Establecimientos Filmadores Argentinos, but then, all of a sudden and thanks to her role in Stella (1943), she reached stardom. A beautiful, tall blonde, her talent was very limited but people did not want to see her acting. They paid their tickets to see that image. She began a relationship with director Luis César Amadori in 1941 and became one of the stars of Argentina Sono Film. After the huge success of God Bless You (1948) (aka God Reward You), star and director got married and both became co-owners of Sono Film. Mr. and Mrs. Amadori enjoyed a happy time under the first two Peron governments. They made movies in Mexico in the 1950s, but after the 1955 coup, they left Argentina and flew to Spain. Both went on working there. Moreno excelled in a movie called La noche y el alba (1958) (aka The Night and the Dawn) and showed she had learned her craft. Unfortunately, she decided to quit cinema when she was 40 years old.
In 1965, she was offered a part in an Italian-Argentine co-production starring Vittorio Gassman, but she did not bother to answer. In the 1970s, the couple returned to Argentina -- both were owners of the Maipo theater. In 1977, Mr. Amadori died, and she became sort of a recluse. Director 'Maria Luisa Bemberg' and producer Lita Stantic offered her a role in Camila (1984), but she turned it down. She died in Buenos Aires in 1999 and is still remembered as the symbol of an era. - Don Watters was born on 18 July 1936 in Dallas, Texas, USA.
