Mr. Nunokawa is the president of Studio Pierrot, a Japanese animation studio that produces animation for both film and television. He founded Studio Pierrot in 1979, and in a short time became a leader in the anime industry. A "pierrot" is a French clown, and Nunokawa used this word for his studio to reflect his love for the circus. The company's logo even features a grinning clown face.
