Sen is one of his nation's most politically active filmakers. After having studied physics at university in Calcutta, Sen worked as a freelance journalist, a salesman of patent medicines and a sound technician in a film studio. In the mid-1940s he joined the Indian People's Theatre Association and at that time began to read about and study film. The association had links to the Communist Party of India and this heralded the beginning of Sen's involvement with Marxist politics. In 1956 Sen made his debut with Raat Bhore (1956), the first of his 30 (as of 2002) films. Although his first film was openly political, he achieved national status as the director of a comedy, Bhuvan Shome (1969). Influenced by Italian neorealism and the work of fellow countryman Satyajit Ray, Sen used location shooting and non-professional casts in his early films. By the 1970s he was making wider use of symbolism and allegory. Although he remains politically committed, Sen feels that the "difference between party Marxists and a private Marxist like me is that others think they pocketed truth, whereas I am always in search of truth... " Sen's films have won numerous international awards. The Case Is Closed (1982), a scathing look at the hypocritical reaction of a bourgeois Calcutta family to the death of a servant boy, took home the Jury Prize from the 1983 Cannes Film Festival.- Actor

With the publishing of his first book, "Nondito Noroke" in 1972, Humayun Ahmed came into the limelight as a promising young writer. He proved later on that he was not there to be lost among others. His next book, "Shonkhonil Karagar", was another huge success with the readers. Most of his earlier books were family/social drama. But he proved his talent later on by writing more than a handful of science fictions and horrors/super natural books as well. He even created a few characters that are known to almost everybody, such as "Himu" (who always wears a yellow punjabi and no sandals) and Misir Ali (the extremely logical person, there's nothing in his world that cannot be explained scientifically).
Humayun Ahmed had his directorial debut on TV with the series Eishob Dinratri (1985). A very touchy and complicated family drama. That was just the beginning, he went on to make a whole bunch of TV series, some of which are still popular with people.
His movies are one of the very few that takes middle class people to the theaters now a days. Among the obscene and violent movies that are mostly catered towards the lower working class, movies like Aguner Poroshmoni (1994) and Dui Duari (2000) were like a touch of fresh air.- Shahid Hasan Misha (known by his stage name Misha Shawdagor) is a Bangladeshi film actor. He has appeared in more than 800 films.Sawdagor won the "actor hunt" contest arranged by BFDC in 1986. On this day in 1952, actor Humayun Faridi was conceived. The jewel of an actor left his impact in every acting genre in Bangladesh, from theater to commercial Bangla films.
Over the course of a four-decade career, Faridi rose to an elite level. His distinctive acting technique is still referenced in jokes, tribute videos, and social media posts.
In a newspaper article, Faridi's close friend and fellow director Shaer Khan affectionately referred to the actor as "Pagla" and "Genius." Shaer penned: "Humayun Faridi is one of a rare breed of actors. Similar to how Hollywood is still looking for the next Gregory Peck, we will have to wait 100 years for the next Faridi." Humayun Faridi was referred to as the "Gregory Peck of Bangladesh" by Shaer. His eulogy wouldn't be an exaggeration, given Faridi is widely recognized as one of Bangladesh's all-time best actors.
In Bangla movies, Faridi has played a range of parts, some of which were adversarial. But despite playing a villain, he still stole the show. His portrayal of "Kan kata Ramjan" has become legendary in our nation's TV history. One of his best performances, albeit slightly less well known, was as the chauvinist and abusive manager Mr. Hawladar in the cult classic movie Palabi Kothay. The movie seems more timely in the MeToo era, and it was undoubtedly ahead of its time.- Adib Ahasan Chowdhury is a talented individual hailing from Dhaka, Bangladesh, whose journey of academic pursuits and personal growth has laid the foundation for an inspiring career in the field of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE).
