'Transporter 3' Trailer Features Bunnies and Teddy Bears?

12 October 2008 2:05 PM, PDT | From Rope Of Silicon | See recent Rope Of Silicon news

Whip, bam, boom and punch-you-in-the-face Grrrrrrrrrrrrrr... The second trailer for Transporter 3 (11/26) is here and if you aren't sold on this one simply based on its existence I am not sure what more a trailer can do, but Lionsgate is out to make sure anyone that hasn't had their fill after the first two installments are prepped and ready for a third. Jason Statham returns as Frank Miller, the ex-Special Forces operative who specializes in high-risk deliveries. This time around Frank drives a car really fast and the guys that hired him don't seem too appreciative and want to have him killed as do other guys all while he says "buckle your seatbelt" and has sex with his fortunately hot co-star. Rock on and put the pedal to the metal and watch out below because this one is gonna hit you in the face with slam bam action that will make you sh!

Four more board ‘Middle Men’

5 October 2008 9:58 PM, PDT | From screeninglog.com | See recent screeninglog news

James Caan, Gabriel Macht, Peter Stormare and Rachael Taylor are the latest to join Luke Wilson and Giovanni Ribisi in George Gallo’s upcoming indie drama “Middle Men,” according to Variety.

Written by Gallo and Andy Weiss, the film centers on a businessman who builds an online billing company and is consequently pulled into chaotic mess involving conmen, federal agents and terrorists.

The film, which heads into production this month, is further described as a chronicle of the birth of the Internet porn industry.

Caan recently appeared in “Get Smart,” and he will next be seen in “New York, I Love You.” Macht is toplining Frank Miller’s “The Spirit,” due in theaters Dec. 25.

Stormare was last seen on the big screen in “Witless Protection,” while Taylor recently starred in “Bottle Shock” and “Shutter.”

Top Fox Exec Talks Daredevil Reboot

3 October 2008 5:11 PM, PDT | From ScreenRant.com | See recent Screen Rant news

The guys over at IESB were recently chatting with 20th Century Fox co-chairman, Tim Rothman, and got him to open up about the Daredevil reboot, a project which was proposed earlier this year at Comic Con by Sin City creator Frank Miller and British action star Jason Statham.

According to Rothman, Miller and Statham weren’t just doing some out-loud wishful thinking: a Daredevil reboot is something Fox would definitely be interested in–so long as they could snag a director who would be able to do for the Man Without Fear what Chris Nolan did for Batman Begins.

Check out a few snippets from the interview with Rothman:

IESB: One of the brands that has made Fox a lot of money is Marvel. Recently, there was a reboot of the Hulk, which was alright, but I think it was mainly to get it ready for the Avengers film coming up.

A Prequel/Sequel To 300!

3 October 2008 7:04 AM, PDT | From ScreenRant.com | See recent Screen Rant news

Hmm… a prequel or a sequel to 300… how about Both!

After the huge success of 300, there was much talk of a potential prequel or sequel to the hit phenomenon. Well, it turns out there will be another 300 film and it will be a bit of both.

After the Warner Brothers’ Watchmen presentation on Wednesday, Robert Sanchez from IESB had a chance to throw a few questions at Zack Snyder during the cocktail reception. Simply asked when the second 300 film would be based, Snyder responded saying it would take place

“between the Battle of Thermopylae and the Battle of Plataea”

the latter of which is where the first film ended off with Dilios, the one-eyed narrator (played by my favorite, David Wenham), leading the Greeks into battle.

Frank Miller, creator of the original 300 graphic novel, will be working on the follow-up graphic novel, which will then be adapted for the second film.

Zack Snyder On The Follow-Up To ‘300’

3 October 2008 2:04 AM, PDT | From MovieBlog.Ugo.com | See recent Ugo MovieBlog news

The IESB has the dish on what to expect for the ‘300’ prequel straight from Zack Snyder’s mouth.  After being asked about a sequel to Watchmen (which the director wouldn’t hear of) IESB learned that Snyder has spoken with Frank Miller, who will be writing and drawing the graphic novel that the second film will be based on. Says the site, “Upon Miller’s completion of the book, then, and only then, will they delve into writing a script for the movie. Snyder continued and said he would not have any input into the novel and wants it to be a creation of Miller’s 100%. Snyder also said it will take place between the Battle of Thermopylae and the Battle of Plataea, the battle that narrator Dilios is at while re-telling the story of King Leonidas and the mighty Spartans to a new group of warriors at the end

Zack Snyder on '300' Sequel/Prequel

2 October 2008 6:17 PM, PDT | From Comicmix.com | See recent Comicmix news

With the wild success of Zack Snyder's 300, it's hardly a surprise that there's a sequel in the works. Yes, most of the cast is dead by story's end, but before you call call madness, remember that this, is, Sparta!! we're talking about here.

IESB caught up with Snyder at a Watchmen event in Hollywood the other day, and got his two cents on the film's follow-up. According to the director, development on the film project will only occur when Frank Miller has finished writing and illustrating the graphic novel's sequel. Snyder wants Miller to have full creative control of the novel's story, as was the case with 300.

It's hard to imagine a sequel to 300 with Leonidas and the gang considering the film's ending. There's been speculation that the project would be a prequel rather than a sequel, thereby allowing Leonidas to return to fight again. Snyder set the record

Zack Snyder Has Details on '300' Sequel

2 October 2008 9:53 AM, PDT | From GetTheBigPicture.net | See recent Get The Big Picture news

There will very likely be another 300 movie. Talk has been building for the past year-and-a-half about where Frank Miller and director Zack Snyder would take the story, and IESB has learned that it will evidently be a sequel and not a prequel.

Speaking to Snyder at a Watchmen event in Los Angeles yesterday, IESB asked about 300, and Snyder said he would wait for Miller to write the graphic novel and that he won't personally have any input to the finished product. Once the graphic novel is complete, Snyder will direct the follow-up, and work on the screenplay adaptation, as well.

Snyder also says the film will take place during the year after the Battle of Thermopylae that is featured in 300 and the Battle of Plataea, which is where the reconstituted forces at the end of the film stand ready for battle as they listen to Dilios narrates the story of King Leonidas.

Zack Snyder Reveals '300' Will Be Sequelized

2 October 2008 6:32 AM, PDT | From Cinematical.com | See recent Cinematical news

I know, I know -- "sequelized" isn't a word, but it's the most fitting label I can come up with. Ever since 300 hit theaters in March 2007, there has been talk of creating some kind of spin off. Would it be a prequel? Would it be a sequel? Would it be some demented fever dream invented by one Cinematical blogger on a late Colorado night?

Well, someone finally asked a 300 alumni other than poor Gerard Butler. IESB.net caught up with director Zack Snyder, who revealed that 300 would receive the sequel treatment. Snyder did the impossible, and actually spoke to Frank Miller about it, and learned he's writing a graphic novel that takes place between Thermopylae and the Battle of Plataea which is seen at the end of the film. There's a mere year in between waiting to be populated with new Spartan heroes (though David Wenham's lone survivor, Dilios,

What's the 300 sequel?

2 October 2008 2:12 AM, PDT | From JoBlo.com | See recent JoBlo news

You may have heard that Warner Bros. is planning a sequel to 300. No one really knew what to make of this news since 300 was based on a well-known historic event but now IESB has got the scoop after catching up with director Zack Snyder. Snyder says that the first step is for Frank Miller to first write the graphic novel and until that is done a script won't even begin to be considered. Snyder said he doesn't want to have any input on the story as he wants it to be entirely Miller's...

Zack Snyder Reveals Story Details for 300 Sequel

2 October 2008 1:28 AM, PDT | From firstshowing.net | See recent FirstShowing.net news

Back in June we confirmed that Warner Brothers was looking to develop a sequel to 300. At first, this seemed like a terrible idea, but with more updates on the project, it doesn't sound so bad. IESB talked with Zack Snyder earlier tonight and got an update on their plans. Snyder revealed that Frank Miller is actually planning to write another graphic novel that would take place between the Battle of Thermopylae and the Battle of Plataea (that was at the very end of 300). So it's actually not really a sequel or a prequel, but a combination that would seemingly be focused on the character of Dilios, played by David Wenham in 300. When asked whether he might be interested in directing, Snyder answered that he definitely would, only on the condition that the graphic novel be completed separately from the movie. He wants Frank to finish that comic before ...

Details on '300' Prequel/Sequel Unearthed

1 October 2008 9:54 PM, PDT | From Aceshowbiz | See recent Aceshowbiz news

While at the "Watchmen" press preview in Hollywood on Wednesday, October 1, director Zack Snyder talks to IESB about the forthcoming "300" prequel/sequel. Stating that the follow-up movie will be both prequel and sequel, the filmmaker then let out that the second film will take place between the Battle of Thermopylae and the Battle of Plataea.

In the final monologue by Dilios at the end of "300", it was explained that there is a whole year between the two great battle. Hence, that is what will be explored on the second movie. Giving out more on the dishes of the prequel/sequel film, Snyder noted that the movie will be based on the graphic novel which will be written and drawn by Frank Miller, meaning that before the book is completed, the script won't be penned.

"300" is a 2007 epic battle film that chronicles the story of King Leonidas and his 300 Spartans who

300 Sequel Details

1 October 2008 9:07 PM, PDT | From cinemablend.com | See recent Cinema Blend news

Score one for the power of alcohol. IESB's Robert Sanchez cornered Zack Snyder in a bar somewhere and we presume, after buying him tequila shots, got him to spill details on what's going on with the sequel to 300. Snyder opened up and told him all about it. It seems that right now they're waiting on Frank Miller. Rather than just coming up with any old sequel script, Miller is working on a second graphic novel which, when finished they will use as the basis for another film, the same as they did the first time around. Neither Snyder, nor anyone else will have any input into what Miller's doing. It's all up to him. It's only after Miller is done that they'll go to work. Miller on the other hand has been pretty busy directing The Spirit, so it's no surprise that he hasn't already finished. Since that's the case,

New ‘Spirit’ Trailer

29 September 2008 2:01 AM, PDT | From MovieBlog.Ugo.com | See recent Ugo MovieBlog news

Despite your initial reaction to what we’ve seen so far from Frank Miller’s adaptation of Will Eisner’s The Spirit, have a look at the new trailer.  We still may be in for one of the most over the top, campy, overblown projects in recent memory...but in a good way.  Check out the new trailer at Collider. A resurrected cop does battle with a villain whose quest for immortality threatens an entire metropolis in Sin City creator Frank Miller’s adaptation of Will Eisner’s acclaimed graphic novel. When a rookie cop is brutally killed and mysteriously brought back to life, he assumes the guise of The Spirit (Gabriel Macht)—a masked crime fighter who prowls the shadows of Central City on a supernatural mission to keep the urban landscape safe. Upon discovering that his arch nemesis, The Octopus (Samuel L. Jackson), is determined to live forever

Spirited New Trailer for 'The Spirit'

27 September 2008 11:38 AM, PDT | From GetTheBigPicture.net | See recent Get The Big Picture news

I'm not sure I get a clearer understanding of The Spirit from this new trailer, but I'll be damned if there aren't more quotes perfect for any occasion.

As you probably know, it's Frank Miller's spin on the classic Will Eisner comic, and as you also probably know, Frank Miller is something of a comic book legend himself, having written the original comic and co-directed the film adaptation of Sin City.

We see more in this new trailer - more of Scarlett, more of Eva, more of the man himself, played by Gabriel Macht - and I guess they're trying to convey style over substance.

The Spirit, like the baby Jesus and intolerable relatives, arrives on Christmas day.

New Trailer For ‘The Spirit’ Makes Me Want To See It

27 September 2008 10:18 AM, PDT | From Filmonic.com | See recent Filmonic news

The new trailer for Frank Miller's The Spirit is a huge improvement from the previous trailer we have seen. The movie has been getting some bad buzz ever since the first trailer was released and then again after footage was shown at Comic Con, so it was vital they kicked out a good trailer, which in my opinion they have. Action-Packed Fresh Trailer From 'The Spirit'

26 September 2008 6:51 PM, PDT | From Aceshowbiz | See recent Aceshowbiz news

The second full trailer of Frank Miller's "The Spirit" has arrived. Posted firstly by Moviefone, it presents the footage that has been described by BadTaste.it awhile ago. Opened with the scene where Spirit leaps down from a high building to save a woman from criminals, it continues with Spirit's explanation about his being, stating that he is not a ghost but a living, breathing and moving man.

The video then kicks in giving background illustration about the situation in Central City and that Spirit's existence creates a mess in the criminal underworld making Silken Floss points out to Octopus that they have to do something about him. That leads to the brawl between the two titans as Octopus aims to kill Spirit while he can. The trailer also presents Sand Saref and the flashback highlighting on younger Denny Colt with the beauty.

New Spirit Trailer Still Looks Goofy

26 September 2008 6:07 PM, PDT | From ScreenRant.com | See recent Screen Rant news

Samuel L. Jackson & Gabriel Macht in a scene from The Spirit

There is another (and presumbaly, final) trailer for Frank Miller’s movie version of The Spirit. Up until now, everything about his film has looked ridiculous and pretty awful. I will say that this latest trailer is Much better than the previous one or the footage shown at Comic-Con this Summer.

But don’t take that as a ringing endorsement.

I won’t delay any more… watch the trailer for yourself:

[See post to watch Flash video] To me, this still looks goofy and cheesy beyond belief. There are a couple of hints of the footage we saw at Comic-Con, but it is (wisely) shown only briefly throughout this trailer. I think this trailer is a reaction to the online reaction to what’s been seen so far, and an attempt to make it look more “serious.”

I still don’t buy it. I could turn out wrong,
