5.0 out of 5 stars What "Memories" may come, Mar 27 1999
By Martin T. Tichenor (Napton, Missouri) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
I have just finished watching the movie for which this is the soundtrack. I kept hearing an intriguing and familiar melody throughout. Toward the end of the movie I realized what it was. And when Annie and Christie found each other again in their dream house (in the movie) I realized it was a song that I had heard and cherised nearly 30 years ago. What a wonderful memory!! "Beside You" a song that I dearly love and still listen to, so marvelously done by its original co-composer, Michael Kamen. Of course 30 years ago it was done by Kamen's band "The New York Rock Ensemble". Hearing 'Beside You' intertwined throughout this movie was truly wonderful. I will be ordering this CD simply from hearing the music on the movie.... and Michael...thank you again for 'dreaming' such a heavenly song.

1.0 out of 5 stars great soundtrack, great movie but theres one problem, Sep 29 2003
By A Customer
now dont get me wrong. i love this movie and the music great BUT (theres always a but) the composer completely stole one of the main songs from an odd band name sigur ros.
thier song Agaetis Byrjun has the same tune. just listen to it. its available for free download on this site.
its more band like and less orchestrated carbon copy of the first song... with vocals.

5.0 out of 5 stars My Life Story in Music, Jan 15 2002
By Charity (Houston, Texas) - See all my reviews
I don't know where to begin, this movie has touched my husband and I even 3 years after the original release date. The soundtrack is mind blowing and makes you re-live the movie all over again. The first track on the album every time I hear it I am reminded why I fell in love with my darling Aden all over again. For classical and especially violin lovers this is the CD to buy for your ultimate collection, as well as for all those lovers out there, just pop in the CD and with the first note you feel all warm and fuzzy inside.
