Still No Baby Talk From Pitt & Jolie Publicist

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie's representatives are still refusing to confirm or deny the actress' reported pregnancy, which was the talk of the Film Independent Spirit Awards on Saturday. The Hollywood couple arrived 10 minutes before the start of the ceremony in Santa Monica, California - where A Mighty Heart star Jolie was nominated for a Best Female Lead prize. The pair raced up the 'blue' carpet, refusing all interview requests. Dressed in a form-hugging black dress, Jolie's belly appeared bloated, prompting further speculation about the actress' condition. Reports have suggested not only is Jolie pregnant with Pitt's second natural child, but she's expecting twins this time around. But the couple's spokeswoman, Cindy Guagenti, offers a firm "no comment" on the rumors. The couple already has one daughter, Shiloh, and three adopted children, Maddox, Pax Thien and Zahara. Vietnamese orphan Pax Thien, four, became an official member of the Jolie-Pitt family last week after a Los Angeles County Children's Court judge fully approved the adoption.

High Spirits for 'Juno' As Film Claims Three Indie Awards

Juno was the big winner at the 2008 Film Independent Spirit Awards in Santa Monica, California on Saturday, claiming three of the five awards the sleeper hit was nominated for. As well as the event's big Best Feature prize, Oscar nominee Ellen Page was named the Best Female Lead and Diablo Cody claimed the Best First Screenplay honor. Double winners at the Spirits were The Diving Bell And The Butterfly, I'm Not There and The Savages. But the event belonged to the memory of late actor Heath Ledger, who was honored with tributes from his I'm Not There director Todd Haynes and co-star Cate Blanchett, who dedicated her Best Supporting Actress prize to her fellow Aussie, who died in January. The independent film gala was hosted by actor Rainn Wilson, who closed the ceremony by staging a pretend fight in the audience with Best Male Lead winner Philip Seymour Hoffman, after poking fun at The Savages star throughout the prizegiving.

Lohan and Murphy Win Big at Razzies

Lindsay Lohan and Eddie Murphy have been named and shamed as the worst actors of 2007, after landing a spray-painted trophy apiece at the Golden Raspberry Awards. Lohan's movie I Know Who Killed Me broke records by scooping eight of the nine prizes it was nominated for at the spoof Oscars ceremony - nicknamed the Razzies - in Los Angeles on Saturday. Lohan alone managed to win two - for Worst Actress and Worst Screen Couple, for a scene in the movie in which she appears alongside herself. Worst Film winner I Know Who Killed Me has smashed the unenviable record set by John Travolta-starring sci-fi epic Battlefield Earth and stripper drama Showgirls, which each scored seven wins at previous ceremonies. Murphy was awarded three of the four prizes in the worst acting categories for the trio of characters, male and female, he played in the critically mauled but commercially successful Norbit. Due to the prize-winning dominance of I Know Who Killed Me and Norbit, Daddy Day Camp was the only other movie to be humiliated with a Razzie award, for Worst Prequel or Sequel.

Cage Not Accused of Tax Fraud

On February 20, 2008, World Entertainment News Network (WENN) distributed a story about actor Nicolas Cage under the headline "Cage Accused of Tax Fraud." WENN has since been advised by Mr. Cage's legal advisors the headline is untrue and he has not in fact been accused of tax fraud, and that, to the contrary, Mr. Cage initiated legal proceedings against the Commissioner of Internal Revenue challenging certain decisions of America's Internal Revenue Service (IRS) and not vice versa. WENN regrets this error and apologizes to Mr. Cage for any distress this erroneous article caused. --WENN Editors

Roberts Named Oscars' Most Stylish

Julia Roberts has been named the Best-Dressed Oscar winner in a new online poll. The actress' look at the 2000 Academy Awards, where she was named Best Actress for her portrayal of Erin Brockovich, gave her the style edge over Halle Berry in Parade.com's Oscar Survey Spectacular. Roberts scooped up 25 percent of the vote with Berry's 2001 outfit trailing close behind with 24 percent. Hilary Swank came in third for her 2004 Million Dollar Baby outfit. Parade.com's in depth online survey also named Roberts' Pretty Woman co-star Richard Gere and Sandra Bullock as the Favorite Actor and Actress Never Nominated for an Oscar. Meanwhile, Sally Field's "You really like me!" speech was voted Oscars' most memorable. And, in a look back at the favorite Oscar-winning films of each decade, One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest claimed the 1970s prize, Rain Man was voted the Favorite Oscar Winner of the 1980s, Forrest Gump beat Titanic for the 1990s honor, and The Lord Of The Rings The Return Of The King was named the Favorite Film of the new century so far.

Cotillard Wins Top French Honor

Actress Marion Cotillard kickstarted her Oscar weekend in style - by claiming France's top acting prize. The Oscar winner claimed a Best Actress Cesar for her acclaimed portrayal of tragic singer Edith Piaf in La Vie En Rose on Friday night. Cotillard had already won a British Bafta and a Golden Globe among her string of acting accolades. And with her Oscar win on Sunday, Cotillard was the first French Best Actress winner since Simone Signoret won gold in 1960. Meanwhile, also honored at the Cesars was Mathieu Amalric, who was named Best Actor for his performance as a stroke victim in The Diving Bell And The Butterfly. Amalric was absent from the prizegiving because he is currently playing the latest James Bond villain on location in Panama. La Graine Et Le Mulet claimed the night's Best Film honor and Abdellatif Kechiche was named Best Director for the movie. Hafsia Herzi claimed the Best Young Actress prize for the film.

Christie Calls for Prison Camp Closure at the Oscars

Oscar nominee Julie Christie was in the mood for making a point at the Academy Awards on Sunday, calling for the closure of military detention camp Guantanamo Bay. The Away From Her star was among the celebrities wearing an orange ribbon on her red carpet gown - and she was more than happy to explain its significance amid the glitz and glamour. She revealed, "It's the American Civil Liberties Union campaign to close Guantanamo (Bay), so it's a very, very important issue... It's affecting the whole world." The prison camp located in Guantanamo Bay Naval Base was opened in 2002 on the shore of Guantanamo Bay in Cuba. The detainees held there are classified by U.S. officials as enemy combatants.

Spears Reunited With Sons

Britney Spears has been reunited with her sons, just weeks after she had her visitation rights revoked following a breakdown at her Beverly Hills home. The troubled singer spent three hours with her sons, two-year-old Sean Preston and Jayden James, one, on Saturday after reaching a visitation agreement with ex-husband Kevin Federline on Friday. Spears picked the boys up from Federline's Tarzana, California home on Saturday morning, in the company of her father Jamie and her psychiatrist, according to People.com. Photographers who witnessed the scene claim Federline buckled his children into their car seats before Spears drove off for her three-hour day trip with her kids. In January, Spears' visitation rights were taken from her after she reportedly held her children captive in her Beverly Hills mansion, sparking a stand-off with emergency services. Last week the singer failed to have her visitation rights reinstated, but Federline responded to the ruling by insisting he wanted his kids to have a relationship with their mother.

Bertinelli Opens Up About Secret Spielberg Romance

Eddie Van Halen's ex-wife Valerie Bertinelli once romanced movie mogul Steven Spielberg. In an upcoming interview with talk show host Oprah Winfrey, the TV star-turned-weight-loss spokeswoman opens up about dating the director. Bertinelli reveals Spielberg asked her out after she auditioned for his blockbuster Raiders Of The Lost Ark. She says, "I was so wrong for (the role) and the next day I got a call and some flowers... (Spielberg) asked me out. We went out a few times." The actress and Jenny Craig spokeswoman even suggests the romance was more than dinner and flowers, telling Winfrey, "(We) did more." But the romance didn't last - Bertinelli fell for Van Halen and Spielberg wed actress Amy Irving. He has since divorced and is now married to Kate Capshaw. In the interview, which airs on Oprah on Monday, Bertinelli, who is promoting new autobiography Losing It... And Gaining My Life Back One Pound At A Time, also speaks out about cheating on her ex-husband and a lusty lesbian moment, when she kissed another woman.

Registry Suggests Lopez's Babies Were a Week Late

Jennifer Lopez had hoped to give birth to her twins on St. Valentine's Day, according to her gift registry details. The singer/actress gave birth to a boy and girl on Friday - but Internet blogger Marc Malkin has uncovered information suggesting the babies were a week late. Lopez and her husband Marc Anthony are registered at celebrity baby boutique Petit Tresor as Miss Valentine and Mr. Valentine, with a due date of 14 February, 2008. Among the items on the list are baby booties, BabyBjorn carriers, matching blue and pink Baby CZ cashmere sets, mink hats and a men's Petunia Pickle Bottom diaper bag. The New York Daily News has reported Lopez hired Petit Tresor to design baby nurseries for her three family homes in Bel Air, Long Island and Florida's Fisher Island.

Lohan Settles Car Crash Suit

The legal battle between Lindsay Lohan and the motorist who claimed she ploughed into him after dining at Los Angeles restaurant The Ivy has been settled. Raymundo Ortega launched a suit against the actress last summer, claiming Lohan had been drinking at the trendy restaurant minutes before she collided with him on Robertson Boulevard in October, 2005. Ortega's claims conflicted with police reports, which suggested he was to blame for the car crash. Lohan settled with Ortega on Friday. Details of the deal were not available when Wenn went to press.
