McCartney/Mills Divorce Hearing Heading for Second Week

Sir Paul McCartney's divorce battle with Heather Mills will continue into this week after the warring couple failed to reach an agreement. Mills - who's representing herself in the case at London's High Court - could reportedly walk away with $120 million of the former Beatle's estimated $1.65 billion personal fortune. Officials have confirmed Court 34 has been booked for the case to continue on Monday. It's likely the judge will decide at some point next week whether enough has been said to draw the hearing to a close. McCartney and Mills split in May 2006 after four years of marriage. The couple has a daughter, four-year-old Beatrice, together. Ex-glamour model Mills launched a bitter tirade against the British press in a TV interview in October accusing them of turning the public against her after a series of "hate campaigns."

Fanning Steps Down From Role

Child star Dakota Fanning has pulled out of new movie My Sister's Keeper - because she isn't prepared to shave her head. The War Of The Worlds star, 13, was set to star in the forthcoming Nick Cassavetes film, about a young girl who files for legal separation from her parents after discovering she was only conceived to help prolong the life of her sick sister. But Fanning withdrew from the project after learning the role would require her to lose her blonde locks, reports industry publication Variety. And the teen is not the only one to quit My Sister's Keeper - her nine-year-old sister Elle Fanning has also pulled out of the movie. They will now be replaced by Sofia Vassilieva and Academy Award nominee Abigail Bresling as the elder and younger siblings, respectively.

Walken Accepts Hasty Pudding Honor

Actor Christopher Walken sang while dressed in drag when he collected his Man Of The Year award from Harvard University's Hasty Pudding Theatrical Society on Friday. The Oscar winner donned a bra and brown wig, danced and sang a song from movie Hairspray before accepting the wacky honor from the prestigious Massachusetts college's amateur theatrical organization. Walken admitted he would "have prepared or had a couple of drinks" had he known what was in store at the ceremony, adding, "I hope nobody's watching. I acted on this stage in a play about 20 years ago." The 64-year-old later admitted he was "amazed and thrilled" by the honor. Talisa Friedman, press manager for the Hasty Pudding drama troupe, said Walken exemplifies the Hasty Pudding spirit and the value it puts on fun. Actress Charlize Theron collected the Hasty Pudding Woman Of The Year award earlier this month.

'24' Mastermind Leaves Show

The co-creator and executive producer of hit TV series 24 has quit the show. Joel Surnow's contract with 20th Century Fox TV, the program's production company, was due to expire on April 30 but it was announced on Wednesday the studio had granted his request for an early release to pursue new projects. He says, "I did some soul-searching. I took it as an opportunity to write on my own and do other things. After doing 24, I don't know if I want to do a mainstream show again. I like what's going on in cable; there is an opportunity to stretch dramatically there, which is something I'm trying to do."

Dunst Denies Substance Abuse Caused Gyllenhaal Split

Kirsten Dunst's representatives have blasted accusations the actress' split with actor Jake Gyllenhaal was caused by her alleged substance abuse. The 25-year-old was reportedly admitted to Cirque Lodge after a week of partying at last month's Sundance Film Festival - but family sources close to the Marie Antoinette star insist it was her wild ways that caused the couple's three-year relationship to end in 2005. A source tells American magazine Us Weekly, "Jake was turned off by all the partying." A representative for Dunst has dismissed the split rumors as "downright wrong" and is adamant "she is not being treated for cocaine or any drug."

Lawyer Files for Spears Case To Be Heard in Federal Court

An attorney who claims to be Britney Spears' new lawyer has filed a federal complaint arguing the conservatorship of the singer's estate violates her civil rights. Jon Eardley, who has practices in New York and Washington, D.C., submitted his legal complaint on behalf of Spears in U.S. District Court last Thursday. Eardley is seeking the ongoing conservatorship case to be moved from Los Angeles Superior Court to a federal court. Spears' father Jamie was recently appointed conservator of his daughter's estate - he has temporary control over the Toxic singer's legal and financial affairs until March 10. But Eardley tells People.com, "I see the case as a civil rights case. These are issues of confinement. Very serious confinement. Not allowed to contact her friends. Not allowed to use the phone. Not allowed to come and go as you please. Bodyguards controlling you and so forth." On Friday, a spokesperson for the office of public information for the Los Angeles Superior Court confirmed the Spears case is still being heard in California: "The state and federal issues would have to be litigated among all interested parties involved in Ms. Spears' conservatorship. And at this time there is no change to any of her hearing dates on the calendar in state court. It is our view that all current matters remain in full force and effect."

Alley No Longer Diet Company Spokesperson

Actress Kirstie Alley has resigned as the spokesperson for U.S. weight-loss company Jenny Craig after three years of service. The Fat Actress star will no longer be the firm's public face after passing that role along to rapper/actress Queen Latifah and Eddie Van Halen's ex-wife Valerie Bertinelli. Jenny Craig spokesman Scott Parker says, "Although Kirstie will not appear in future advertising endeavors for us, she does remain on Jenny Craig's maintenance program and is confident that our program has helped her incorporate positive lifestyle changes that should last a lifetime. Now that Kirstie has 'passed her maintenance baton' to Valerie, you'll see a new campaign with a new celebrity client emerge in 2008… one that promotes health with Queen Latifah."

Driver Pregnant?

Actress Minnie Driver has fueled rumors she is expecting her first child after she was photographed leaving a Los Angeles clinic. The Riches star was spotted outside a doctor's surgery looking at sonograms with a friend. According to New York gossip column Page Six, Driver called her boyfriend, Matthew, in England and talked about "getting bloodwork done." A source tells the publication she told her pal, "Matthew says I should be quiet so no one hears me." A spokesman for Driver has refused to comment.

Bond Stars Caught in Gang Wars

James Bond star Daniel Craig escaped injury on the set of new movie Quantum Of Solace after gang wars erupted in Central America Cast and crew were caught in a gun battle between rival gangsters during filming for the next installment of the superspy franchise in Panama. Armed guards have now been called in to guard the film's cast and crew in fear of further attacks. A representative of Eon Productions, which makes the Bond films, says, "We hope that filming should be able to go ahead as normal from now on. None of the cast have been harmed."

Hudson Wants Law To Stop Paparazzi Photographing Kids

Actress Kate Hudson has called for a U.S. law to make it illegal for paparazzi to photograph celebrities' children without prior consent. The Fool's Gold star has a young son, Ryder, with her ex-husband, The Black Crowes singer Chris Robinson, and finds it infuriating when photographers take pictures of her out in public with her child. She says, "It bothers me, it bothers my parents. Ryder doesn't know what that is. He's four years old. It's aggressive, it's bizarre and it makes him self-conscious. And kids should always be kids, they should never be self-conscious of what they're doing. That should be illegal."
