Dunst Checks Into Rehab?
Marie Antoinette actress Kirsten Dunst has become the latest star to reportedly check into rehab - joining the same Utah medical facility as Eva Mendes. According to U.S. magazine Star, the 25-year-old was admitted to Cirque Lodge after a week of wild partying at last month's Sundance Film Festival. The facility is also the same center where Lindsay Lohan spent last summer for substance abuse problems. A source tells Star, "She (Dunst) desperately needed help. She seemed to be intoxicated when she checked in because she was acting really erratic. She was extremely emotional, constantly breaking down in tears. She not in a good place right now, but thankfully, she's getting the help she needs." Dunst recently dismissed rumors she was on the verge of a breakdown after reports surfaced of her alleged "erratic" behavior at Sundance, with sources claiming her "odd" antics left friends apologizing to other partygoers. But representatives for the Spider-Man star denied the reports insisting, "Kirsten is fine."
Winehouse To Perform at Grammys Via Satellite
Amy Winehouse will perform at Sunday's Grammy Awards via a live satellite TV link-up, after immigration officials banned her from traveling to the U.S. The British singer is nominated for six awards at the prestigious Los Angeles bash, but is unable to attend after American embassy staff in London declined her request for a visa because of her recent arrest and fine for possession of cannabis in Norway. Winehouse, who is currently in rehab, will also "collect" any awards, should she win, via a satellite acceptance speech, reports Entertainment Weekly. On Thursday, Winehouse's spokesperson said, "Unfortunately, her application for a visa to enter the United States Of America has been rejected at this time by the American Embassy in London. Amy has been progressing well since entering a rehabilitation clinic two weeks ago and although disappointed with the decision has accepted the ruling and will be concentrating on her recovery."
Ledger Wake To Be Held On His Favorite Beach

A wake for Heath Ledger will be held at the actor's favorite beach on Saturday. His parents Kim and Sally Ledger want to follow a somber ceremony with a celebration on Cottesloe Beach in their native Perth, Australia. Childhood friend Paul Mullert tells The Australian Times newspaper Ledger was "the quintessential Australian, who loved nothing more (than) slipping on a pair of boardies and his (flip-flops) and heading to Cottesloe Beach." The star's friends and family members have begun arriving in Perth for the funeral, including ex-fiancee Michelle Williams and their two-year-old daughter Matilda, and model Gemma Ward - his last love interest, reports PageSix.com. Ledger was found dead at his New York apartment on January 22, aged just 28. Toxicology results released on Wednesday revealed he was killed by an accidental overdose of prescribed medication.
Jolie Urges U.S. To Act On Iraq Discussions

Actress Angelina Jolie has called on the U.S. government to act on rebuilding war-torn Iraq, after highlighting the plight of the nation's refugees on her current tour of the country. The Alexander star - who is touring Iraq in her role as a United Nations goodwill ambassador - insists more needs to be done to provide long-term solutions for the millions of displaced Iraqis. The 32-year-old says, "There's lots of goodwill and lots of discussion, but there seems to be just a lot of talk at the moment. What happens in Iraq in the years to come is going to affect the entire Middle East. And a big part of what it's going to affect, how it settles, is how these people are returned and settled into their homes, brought back together and whether they can live together and what their communities look like. It's in our best interest to address a humanitarian crisis on this scale because displacement can lead to a lot of instability and aggression." During her visit, Jolie also met with U.S. commander in Iraq, General David Petraeus, and Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki.
Hospital Had "No Reason" To Hold Spears Any Longer
Britney Spears was released from the hospital because there was "no just cause" to hold her at the psychiatric ward any longer, according to U.S. reports. The pop star was committed to the Resnick Neuropsychiatric wing of Los Angeles' UCLA Medical Center on Thursday upon the advice of her personal doctor. Spears was initially placed on a 72-hour hold, but this was upgraded to a 14-day stay at the weekend. However, the troubled singer was discharged on Wednesday after a court representative decided she was sane enough to leave the facility. According to People.com, Spears checked out of hospital against the advice of her doctor after she was given the all-clear from the court hearing referee - usually a lawyer who has the power to overturn medics' decisions after an interview with the patient to determine if there is "just cause" for their detainment. But sources claim the doctor who advised the singer was not her psychiatrist Dr. Deborah Nadel, but another attending medic. Nadel has not been involved with Spears' hospitalization since issuing the 72-hour hold order last week, claims the unnamed source. Shortly after Spears was released, her parents Jamie and Lynne issued a statement describing their "extreme disappointment," accusing hospital officials of putting their daughter's life at risk by discharging her.
Mendes Heading Back to Rehab
Eva Mendes has only left rehab for a temporary break - and will be checking back into the Utah clinic, her publicist has confirmed. The actress entered the Cirque Lodge facility last month amid reports she was battling substance abuse issues. Her spokesperson revealed she was making a positive decision "to take some much-needed time off to proactively attend to some personal issues" - but Mendes left the centre on Wednesday and was spotted getting on a flight to Los Angeles. The sighting prompted American magazine Life & Style to inaccurately claim the Hitch star had left rehab to return to her California home. But her publicist insists the actress is only taking a short break from treatment at Cirque, and will be checking back in soon. The representative tells PageSix.com, "Eva is attending to some personal business in Los Angeles and intends to return to complete her treatment shortly."
O'Donnell Denies She Is an Alcoholic

American comedienne Rosie O'Donnell has denied rumors she is an alcoholic, insisting she chose to give up booze because she is desperate to lose weight. The TV star, 45, recently confessed her dieting secret to a fan on her online blog, prompting others to question the real reason behind her sobriety. The devotee queried: "So, Rosie, alcoholic or not? Just spit it out! ...What led to you stopping the beer? You'll only help someone else." And while O'Donnell admits she was consuming more booze than she would have liked, she is adamant she is simply doing it to improve her health, according to the New York Post's gossip column PageSix. She replied: "(I gave up alcohol) 'cause I was drinking too much, 'cause I didn't want to any more, 'cause it is hard to lose weight when drinking, 'cause I can never have only one."
Cher Ends Retirement for Las Vegas Residency

Pop superstar Cher is coming out of musical retirement - she's landed her own Las Vegas residency. The singer made the announcement during an interview aired on TV show Good Morning America on Thursday. Three years after she officially retired following her 2005 Farewell tour, Cher will take the stage at the Nevada resort's Caesar's Palace - a spot recently vacated by Celine Dion, and one she will share with Bette Midler, who is due to begin her stint at The Colosseum theater later this month. The 61-year-old revealed, "I'm opening in Las Vegas, at Caesar's Palace on May 6th." But she refused to divulge any details about the top secret show - only promising organizers would harness modern technology to make each performance a spectacular event. She adds, "I'm not telling you anything, but things (will be done) that haven't been done before, because we didn't have the technology." The hitmaker is contracted to perform 200 shows over the next three years - but she insists the decision to make a return to music isn't motivated by money, even though she will earn her tens of millions of dollars for the shows. She says, "I know it's a lot of money - but I don't care."
Actress Francis Battles Lung Cancer

Veteran U.S. TV star Anne Francis has spoken out about her bid to beat cancer after having part of a lung cut out. The 77-year-old actress, who played 1960s TV detective Honey West, is recovering after doctors operated on her to remove part of her diseased lung - and now she faces a battle to regain her health. Francis tells America's Globe, "I am scared. I am not out of the woods yet... (but) I'm doing all I can to make this year the year for full healing." The publication reports the forgotten actress knew something was wrong when she started losing weight last summer and friends urged her to seek medical attention. She was diagnosed with non-small cell cancer and underwent chemotherapy to shrink her tumor sufficiently so doctors could operate and remove the upper lobe of her right lung. Francis' currently undergoing further chemotherapy as "insurance." She adds, "I won't know until the end of May whether my treatment is working. I'm still weak from the lung surgery and the chemo takes a lot out of you, but I'm optimistic."

The Thriller hitmaker made the payment for the tax lien on his Los Olivos, California mansion last week, according to state records in Santa Barbara County.
