Sean Young Enters Rehab

Actress Sean Young has checked into a rehab facility in California just days after she was forcibly removed from the Directors Guild Of America Awards for her unruly behavior. The Blade Runner star was escorted from Saturday's event after heckling The Diving Bell and the Butterfly filmmaker Julian Schnabel as he attempted to make a speech from the stage. Reports suggested Young was inebriated at the ceremony. According to her publicist, Young, 48, checked into "an undisclosed" rehabilitation center on Monday in a bid to tackle alcohol issues. The representative says, "It is understood that Young has struggled against the disease for many years."
Williams Puts Work on Hold

Actress Michelle Williams has put work commitments on hold indefinitely while she grieves for her former fiancee Heath Ledger. The 27-year-old was filming the last scenes of new movie Mammoth in Sweden when she heard of her former lover's death last week. The former Dawson's Creek star immediately flew to New York with the couple's two-year-old daughter Matilda where she is expected to stay with family and friends. But the trip has prompted the filmmakers behind her next project Blue Valentine - also starring Ryan Gosling - to put the film on hold. A source tells People.com, "We will hold off until she is ready. The production is in the process of sorting it out in respect to her. We're hoping she will still come back and do the film and are happy to wait. The film is tailor made for those two so of course we would want to wait. You can't get much better than them." Williams and Ledger began dating after meeting on the set of Brokeback Mountain in 2005. The couple split in September 2007.
Lohan's Friends Defend Latest Lapse
Lindsay Lohan's friends have defended the actress against reports she has lapsed in her battle with booze - insisting she is in control of her drinking. The actress is on a pledge to stay sober after a spell in rehab last year, following two DUI incidents which resulted in a brief stint in jail. She relapsed while in Italy on New Year's Eve - and was spotted drinking cocktails in New York at the weekend. But pals insist she wasn't drunk, telling the New York Daily News, "Lindsay is learning how to work through her addictions and, once in a while, she chooses to have a cocktail. People over-exaggerate her behavior when in fact on Friday night, many people commented to her on how composed she was." After her New Year drinking session, her lawyer Blair Berk said: "After being handed a champagne bottle while on a dance floor in Italy on New Year's Eve and drinking from it, the good news is that Lindsay stopped herself, called her sponsor, and got herself back on track. There is no magic cure here. The most unfortunate part of this is that Lindsay has to share her 'one day at a time' with the entire world."
Mexico Drops Extradition Warrant for Bounty Hunter Chapman

A Mexican judge has ruled TV star Duane 'Dog' Chapman cannot be extradited to Mexico to face kidnapping charges - ending a lengthy legal battle. The star of reality show Dog The Bounty Hunter traveled to Mexico to capture serial rapist Andrew Luster - the heir to the Max Factor cosmetics empire - in June 2003. But Chapman, his son and another cohort found themselves on the wrong side of the law when Mexican authorities in Puerto Vallarta learned of plans to track and capture Luster. Bounty hunting is illegal in Mexico. After a brief spell behind bars, Chapman and his team were allowed to return to the United States but Mexican prosecutors have been fighting to extradite Chapman on kidnapping charges ever since. A U.S. judge dismissed the move in November and on Tuesday a Mexican judge agreed. Chapman tells website Tmz.com, "Thank God this nightmare is over."
Spears Falls Out With "Manager" Lutfi
Britney Spears has fallen out with her longtime companion/manager Sam Lutfi after the pair broke into a screaming match outside her Hollywood mansion on Monday night. Spears was seen arguing with Lutfi while sitting in his parked car at the front gate of the private Los Angeles community The Summit. She later emerged from the vehicle in tears and sat on the street curb for 20 minutes, before calling her on/off boyfriend, paparazzo Adnan Ghalib, to pick her up. But Ghalib was denied entrance to the complex by the gate's guards, after they were reportedly instructed by Lutfi to keep the British-born photographer out. He reportedly text messaged Lutfi to find out why he wasn't being granted access to the estate, to which Lutfi responded by telling him to leave, insisting his presence in Spears' life was going to "kill" the troubled star. Lutfi's message, captured by Hollywood.tv, reads, "You need to cease all contact with her completely. I've tried to work with you helping her but you didn't do as asked. Only way to help now is disappear. She's never been this way before." But in a statement released by Ghalib through his photo agency employers Finalpixx, he explains: "The truth is that Sam Lutfi started an argument with Britney and the two ended up in a screaming fight. Sam continued to verbally abuse Britney as she sat barefoot on the curb at her Summit home crying holding her dog London. Britney called Adnan for help and he heard the distress in her voice and drove to the Summit immediately. While outside the gates he was denied access as Sam Lutfi had informed the guards that he was not allowed entry. When Adnan then tried to call Britney it seems that Sam had turned all of her cell phones off." And the dramatic events of Monday night continued when police were called to Spears' residence around 7pm after a neighbor reported a swam of paparazzi were "stepping onto the grounds" of the private community, according to Los Angeles police officer Mike Lopez.
TV Star Allport Dies in Avalanche
American TV star Christopher Allport has died in an avalanche while snowboarding in California. The 60-year-old actor is the third person to die after a trio of freak avalanches caused by snowstorms ripped through the West Coast of America. The veteran actor, who was a huge fan of skiing, was found near the Mountain High Ski resort in Wrightwood, California. Allport had appeared in many of TV's most popular series, including ER, Felicity and Matlock. In a bizarre twist, the actor had once warned about the dangers of skiing in a newspaper article, saying, "Any excursion into the mountains requires awareness. Have fun, but be careful." The other two victims were named as Michael McKay, 23, an off-duty member of the resort's patrol team, and Darin Coffey, 31. Both were allegedly skiing outside the resort's strict boundaries.
Lopez "Not in Labor"
Jennifer Lopez's representative has denied reports the singer/actress has gone into labor, insisting she is still pregnant. The Out Of Sight beauty is due to give birth imminently and rumors circulated the Internet on Monday claiming the star had been taken to a Long Island, New York hospital to prepare for the delivery. But her spokesperson tells Usmagazine.com, "It's not true. We have been getting the same phone calls since last week. Everybody figures it is happening around now so they have started throwing out the story hoping they will be right and be the one to break the news but it isn't yet." Lopez and her husband Marc Anthony are said to be expecting twins, and reports were further fuelled on Friday when Spanish pop star Alejandro Sanz dedicated a song to their "children" at a concert in New York.

Norah Jones is planning to take 2008 off - after working herself to the point of exhaustion last year. The singer released a new album, Not Too Late, last January and spent much of the year touring to promote the disc. But she also found the time to squeeze in her acting debut in director Wong Kar Wai's movie My Blueberry Nights - and she admits her heavy work schedule has left her in need of a break. Jones says, "I'm taking some time off. I worked a lot last year, just between the movie and my new record and the tour."

The happy couple are preparing to welcome another summer baby - a brother or sister for their son Kingston, who was born in May 2006. Stefani, who wed Brit Rossdale in 2002, is 13 weeks pregnant. Rossdale's father Douglas says, "They and the whole family are delighted."
