Baron Cohen Signs with Spielberg

Movie funnyman Sacha Baron Cohen has discovered there is life after his comic creation Borat - he has landed a starring role in a Steven Spielberg movie. Just a week after Cohen announced he had retired Borat - following the success of 2006 movie Cultural Learnings of America for Make Benefit Glorious Nation of Kazakhstan - he has been signed to star as 60s hippie satirist Abbie Hoffman in The Trial of the Chicago Seven. Hoffman found fame during the Vietnam War by playing pranks to campaign against the conflict. The movie is slated for release in 2010. Vincent D'Onofrio previously played Hoffman in 2000 film Steal This Movie, which was based on a screenplay written by Hoffman and his wife Anita.

Radcliffe Lands Slain Photographer Role

Harry Potter star Daniel Radcliffe has fought off competition from Heath Ledger and Orlando Bloom to land the lead role in a new movie about a slain photojournalist. The 18-year-old will appear as photographer Dan Eldon in Journey, a film chronicling the civil war in Somalia. Eldon was one of four journalists stoned to death by a mob in the African country in 1993. And Eldon's mother Kathy believes Radcliffe was the perfect choice to play her tragic son. She says, "We resisted a lot of older actors because Dan was a boy emerging into manhood." A compilation of Eldon's diaries - on which the film is based - has sold 200,000 copies since being published in 1997.

Federline Charms Hilton

Britney Spears' ex-husband Kevin Federline has been photographed chatting intimately to socialite Paris Hilton. Federline was pictured whispering into the star's ear at Los Angeles club Lax on Saturday , before giving her a kiss on the cheek. The couple then shared a joke before partying together for the remainder of the evening. Federline's divorce from Spears was finalized in July and he has since been romantically linked to a string of other women including Playboy Playmate Nicole Narain, who he split from earlier this month .

Adoption Official: 'Madonna Is the Perfect Mother'

Pop superstar Madonna is the "perfect mum" to Malawian tot David Banda - according to the adoption official overseeing their case. The singer and her husband, Guy Ritchie, were visited by social worker Simon Chisdale at their London home earlier this year , and were reported to have been given approval earlier this month to make the two-year-old part of their family. The couple took Banda back to Britain from the African nation last year , and Chisdale gave the pair a glowing report, describing Madonna as "a perfect mum for David... a confident and able parent." Ritchie was described as having formed a "warm, playful interaction" with Banda. The adoption could be officially granted by a Malawian court in April next year .

Spears' Sister Jealous of Cheating Boyfriend

Britney Spears' sister Jamie Lynn was left heartbroken after finding out the father of her unborn baby had cheated on her. The 16-year-old confirmed she is pregnant with student Casey Aldridge's child earlier this month but it is now alleged he had been dating other women behind the Zoey 101 star's back. Aldridge is accused of being romantically involved with Whitney Seals from Magnolia, Mississippi, around the time the actress announced in an interview with OK! magazine she was to be a mother. Seals' brother, Kevin, tells MSNBC.com, "Whitney and Casey have been dating for months. I know Jamie Lynn was really upset and jealous when she found out about it."

Pfeiffer Wants to Star in 'Grease' Remake with Jessica Simpson

Michelle Pfeiffer is desperate to star in a remake of seventies movie musical Grease - and she wants Jessica Simpson to play Sandy. The actress is desperately embarrassed about her performance in the ill-fated Grease 2, and wants to erase all memory of it by making a new version of the original film. Pfieffer is thrilled by reports Simpson is being touted to play prom queen Sandy Dumbrowski - and has her eye on the role of the comical Principal McGee. She says, "It's a great idea, and I hear they would like to get Jessica Simpson for the role of Sandy. She would be good." Pfeiffer adds of her own Grease experience, "I hated that film (Grease 2) with a vengeance and could not believe how bad it was. At the time, was young and didn't know better... I hear it's a cult movie now."

Bolton and Sheridan Wedding Hold Up

Michael Bolton's wedding to actress Nicolette Sheridan has hit a glitch - they can't decide where to hold the ceremony. The couple rekindled their 1990s romance in 2005 and have been engaged since Bolton proposed in 2006. They are now ready to make the final step - if they can make up their minds where to do it. Sheridan, 44, explains, "We haven't decided where, and as soon as we make that decision it will happen very quickly." There's another reason Sheridan is in a hurry - she wants to start a family as soon as possible with the singer, revealing: "I would like a baby."

Connolly Escapes Car Crash

Comedian Billy Connolly has escaped serious injury after being involved in a car accident in Scotland. The Mrs Brown star crashed his Land Rover while driving on a main road near Ballater, Aberdeenshire on Sunday afternoon. But 65-year-old is reported to have been unhurt following the incident, the cause of which is still unknown.

Mills to Sell Home to Pay Debts

Heather Mills fears she may be forced to sell her home to pay for her divorce from Sir Paul McCartney. The former glamor model is facing legal action from her former lawyers over $4 million in outstanding bills and now stands to be forced to put her English house on the market to cover the costs. McCartney bought the nine-bedroom home in East Sussex, England, for his estranged wife in August as the $6.5 million house is close to his own property and would allow him easy access to his daughter Beatrice, four. But Mills insists her spiraling debts may leave her no choice but to sell up. A source tells British newspaper the Sunday Mirror, "Heather is telling friends that relations have broken down so badly between her and her lawyers she will have to sell her new house to pay the debt. This Christmas she's been facing up to losing her home. It's a shame as she and Bea have just started to settle there."

Bell Issues Ban on Couple Naming

Heroes beauty Kristen Bell is refusing to let event promoters use her romance with comic Dax Shepard to publicize events they attend together. The actress is eager to keep her relationship with Shepard out of the media spotlight, and reportedly demanded organizers of a Miami, Florida hotel's New Year's Eve party list their names separately. A source tells New York gossip column PageSix, "Kristen is taking Dax as her New Year's Eve date to the Raleigh Hotel in Miami. She told event people they can put either her or Dax on the party announcements - but not both of them." Shepard recently split from Hollywood star Kate Hudson.
