Singer Robert Goulet Dies at 73

Actor and singer Robert Goulet, who shot to fame as Lancelot in the original Broadway production of Camelot, died Tuesday morning at a hospital in Los Angeles while awaiting a lung transplant; he was 73. A singer with matinee-idol good looks and a deep, powerful baritone, Goulet was born in Massachusetts but moved to Canada at an early age, prompting TV host Ed Sullivan to dub him the "American baritone from Canada." Though he co-hosted the Canadian TV show C.G.E. Showtime, it was when he starred opposite Richard Burton and Julie Andrews in the 1960 stage musical Camelot that he became a star, known for singing the ballad "If Ever I Would Leave You." He continued to make many television appearances, mostly on The Ed Sullivan Show and won a Grammy award as Best New Artist in 1962. Mainly a stage actor who appeared in innumerable stage productions and won a Tony award in 1968 for The Happy Time, Goulet also performed in Las Vegas and appeared in the films Underground, Atlantic City, Beetlejuice, The Naked Gun 2 1/2. In 1999, he provided the singing voice for Wheezy the Penguin in Toy Story 2, belting out the Randy Newman song "You've Got a Friend in Me." He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Vera, and a daughter and two sons from his first two marriages.
Spears Has Visitation Rights Cut Back
Britney Spears has had her visitation rights with her children scaled back to twice a week. The singer, who was previously given permission to see her two sons approximately every other day, will be monitored during her two visits, which will take place from 12pm to 7pm on one day, and an overnight stay from 12pm and 10am on another. Also revealed in the documents is a statement from Spears' parenting coach Lisa Hacker, in which she says the star "rarely engaged with (her) children in either conversation or play" during monitored visits, although the 25-year-old is improving. Hacker also says Spears showed a "lack of general attention at Times." She added: "The problem is that unless (Spears) realises the consequences of her behavior and the impact that it has on her children, nothing is going to be successful. Many of (Spears') interactions with the children are not child-centered. It seems that her choices are dependent more on what (she) wants to do rather than what would be more enjoyable for the children." However, Hacker does state that Spears clearly "loves her children and the children are bonded to her". Los Angeles Superior Court Commissioner Scott Gordon has also ordered the singer to child-proof her home by Friday - and that includes making sure there is a child-proof fence around her pool. Spears and her ex-husband Kevin Federline's next custody hearing is set for November 26. Federline still has physical custody of Sean Preston, two, and Jayden James, one.
Jolie Pregnant?

Actress Angelina Jolie has canceled plans to give a lecture in Italy this week, amid reports she is pregnant with her and Brad Pitt's second biological child. The Tomb Raider beauty was due to give a talk at the Pio Manzu Centre near Rimini as part of a conference entitled, "The Flight Of The Hummingbird - The Future of Children In The Mind And Society Of The World" - but pulled out at the last minute. Local newspaper reports claim Jolie cancelled the appearance after discovering she was expecting - and a spokeswoman for the Pio Manzu Centre appeared to 'confirm' the media speculation. Letizia Manjani says, "Angelina canceled last week. Due to her privacy I can't confirm her pregnancy, but I can say that the Italian newspapers are correct in their reports." Jolie and her boyfriend Pitt have their own biological daughter, 16-month-old Shiloh, as well as their adopted children Maddox, six, Pax, three and Zahara, two. Pitt recently expressed his desire to expand their family once again by saying, "We're ready for another one."
Taylor Allowed To Keep Van Gogh Painting

The U.S. Supreme Court has allowed actress Elizabeth Taylor to keep a Vincent Van Gogh painting after dismissing an appeal filed by descendants of previous owner Margarete Mauthner. The legendary Hollywood actress was sued in 2004 by the South African and Canadian heirs after they claimed Mauthner, a Jewish woman, was forced to sell the painting before escaping Nazi Germany in 1939. The heirs cited the 1998 Holocaust Victims Redress Act - a U.S. law that requires art sold or forfeited as a result of Nazi policies to be given back to its original owners. Taylor, 75, submitted evidence that the painting was sold through two Jewish art dealers to a Jewish art collector. Taylor's father purchased the painting in 1963 at a Sotheby's auction in London for $184,000. The painting, View of the Asylum and Chapel at Saint-Remy, is now estimated to be worth tens of millions of dollars.
Seinfeld Blasts Wife's Plagiarism Accuser As a "Wacko"

Comedian Jerry Seinfeld has defended his celebrity chef wife Jessica from allegations she stole recipes from another high-profile cook, calling her accuser a "wacko." Jessica Seinfeld's new Deceptively Delicious cookery book, about hiding healthy ingredients in foods children will eat, is already a U.S. bestseller. But the mother-of-three, 36, is facing accusations her recipes are suspiciously similar to those of chef and baby-products mogul Missy Chase Lapine. Lapine's book, The Sneaky Chef: Simple Strategies For Hiding Healthy Foods In Kids' Favorite Meals, came out in April. But Jerry Seinfeld insists false accusations are part of being in the public eye. In a comic rant on The Late Show on Monday, Seinfeld stated, "One of the fun facts of celebrity life is that wackos will wait in the woodwork to pop out at certain moments to inject a little adrenaline. If you're any good as a woodwork wacko, you're patient. You pick your moment and then you spring out and go wacko. There's another woman who had another cookbook, and it was a similar kind of thing. My wife never saw the book, read the book, never used the book. But the books came out at the same time. So this woman says, 'I sense this could be wacko moment,' so she comes out and accuses my wife. So now my wife is accused of a Watergate-style break-in at Harper Collins (publisher)."

Divorced couple Denise Richards and Charlie Sheen have ended their public custody feud after agreeing to put their young daughters into therapy. The former couple have spent months fighting over custody arrangements for daughters Sam, three, and Lola, two, but have now resolved all matters during a six-hour mediation on October 23. An insider tells Life & Style magazine that Richards will continue to provide a nanny for her ex's monitored visits with the girls, while Sheen has agreed to allow his former wife to take them to therapy sessions. The source claims the actress is worried about the impact of the divorce and her mother's ongoing cancer battle on the girls. The insider tells the publication, "This was a big victory for Denise... She said all she wanted was what's best for the girls. And Charlie was pleased about settling things." Richards' publicist was unavailable for comment when WENN to press.
Morgan Cleared Of Taking Off Alcohol Bracelet

A judge has cleared comedian Tracy Morgan of wrongdoing after he removed his alcohol monitoring ankle bracelet for medical reasons last week. The 30 Rock star was ordered to wear the band - known as a Scram bracelet - in May, after pleading guilty to driving under the influence in New York last year, an offence which violated his probation from a previous Dui arrest in Los Angeles in December 2005. A hearing at Los Angeles County Court last week heard that Morgan was unable to continue wearing the bracelet because of an undisclosed medical condition, according to Tmz.com. And on Tuesday a judge agreed Morgan no longer has to wear the monitoring device after studying photos of the funnyman's medical problem. The judge also ruled the comedian has now completed his probation for drunk-driving.
