Pennington Apologizes for DUI "Error in Judgment"

TV star Ty Pennington has apologized for making "an error in judgment" after being arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol and drugs. The 41-year-old, who hosts Extreme Makeover: Home Edition, was stopped by police in Los Angeles at 12.35am on Saturday morning. He was released two hours later after posting $5,000 bail. In a statement, Pennington says, "I made an error in judgment. We all make mistakes, however this is about accountability. Under no circumstances should anyone consume alcohol while driving. I could have jeopardized the lives of others and I am grateful there was no accident or harm done to anyone. This was my wake-up call. I also want to apologize to my fans, ABC Television and my design team for my lapse in judgment and the embarrassment I have caused."

Hilton Appeals Jail Sentence

Socialite Paris Hilton has appealed the 45 day jail sentence handed to her after being found guilty of violating a probation order and driving with a suspended license. The 26-year-old's lawyers filed a one-page notice of appeal after her Los Angeles Superior Court hearing on Friday. The notice is the first stage towards an appeal and does not automatically guarantee one will take place. The Simple Life star Hilton is currently due to spend 45 days in a California correctional facility. She has fired her longtime representative Elliot Mintz after he accepted partially responsibility for the strict sentence through misinformation.

'Lost' Creators: "End in Sight"

Hit castaway show Lost will end after three more seasons, executive producers have confirmed. In January, Damon Lindelof and Carlton Cuse revealed they envisioned the endpoint for Lost around episode 100. However, a new agreement with ABC will bring the total number of episodes to 120. Despite the increase, both Lindelof and Cuse admit setting a three season deadline is "incredibly liberating." Lindelof says, "(It's) like we've been running a marathon and we actually know where the finish line is for the first time." Cuse adds, "(We've had) a road map for the series with all the major mythological milestones and the ending in place for a while. What we didn't know was how long we had to play the story out. By defining the endpoint we can now really map out the rest of the series in confidence. We sort of view Lost as a mosaic. Now there are only 48 more tiles that go into that mosaic, and we're figuring out, along with all the other writers, exactly where they all go." Lindelof wrote the pilot for Lost with fellow executive producer J.J. Abrams, and Cuse joined the series in October 2004.

All Eyes on Diaz and Timberlake at 'Shrek' Premiere

Former couple Cameron Diaz and Justin Timberlake came face-to-face with each other at the world premiere of Shrek The Third in Los Angeles on Sunday. Diaz, who plays Princess Fiona in all three Shrek movies, landed her ex a role in the third installment in the animated film while they were still dating. While the exes managed to avoid a red carpet collision at Mann Village Theatre, they welcomed each other with a hug and a kiss at the cast photos later on. The couple split in January after nearly four years together. Other stars at the premiere included Mike Myers, Eddie Murphy, Antonio Banderas, Melanie Griffith, Teri Hatcher, Rupert Everett, Dame Julie Andrews, Mary J. Blige, Mya, Larry King and Ray Liotta.

Hasselhoff's Ex: "Videotape Is Two Weeks Old"

The video of a drunken David Hasselhoff hurling expletives at his teenage daughter was recorded just two weeks ago, according to the actor's ex-wife. Hasselhoff and his aides claimed the video had been taken three months ago when it was leaked to the press last week, but the disgraced Baywatch star's former wife Pamela Bach has now come forward with what she claims is the truth. Appearing alongside her attorney Debra Opri on last night's CNN show Larry King Live, Bach said, "It was (taken) about two weeks ago - the last weekend she was in Vegas." Bach, who has been accused of leaking the tape herself, insisted she knew nothing about it until last Wednesday when her eldest daughter Taylor called her and attempted to explain the footage had fallen into the hands of the media. Bach said, "I didn't know about it and I said, 'Why didn't you ever tell me you taped him?'" The actress/singer went on to claim that the tape was her teenage daughter's "cry for help." She added, "She (Taylor) said she wanted to show daddy... I told her it's not her job, he's the parent... I just pray that he gets help because they love their father."

Murphy Marries Boyfriend

Sin City star Brittany Murphy has wed her screenwriter boyfriend Simon Monjack. The 29-year-old actress and Monjack were seen wearing wedding rings at a Playboy magazine event at the Kentucky Derby on Saturday. A source tells UsMagazine.com, "They didn't want photographers to take pictures of their rings because they were waiting to make a formal announcement." Murphy called off her engagement to ex-boyfriend Joe Macaluso in August 2006, following an eight month relationship. She was also engaged to talent manager Jeff Kwatinetz for six months in 2004.

Usher Breaks Calls It Quits with Manager Mother

R&B star Usher has officially split from his manager mother, insisting he just wants her to be "mom." Jonnetta Patton has been in charge of her son's career since he was a teenager, but both parties deny the sudden split was prompted by a rift. The Grammy winning artist says, "She and I are on great terms and support each other in our life's endeavors. We are both very happy but are now working in different areas of the business. This is great for me because it means I now get to have my mother strictly as my mother with no added pressure. At this time in my life, I am simply more interested in building the strength of my family. And in order to do that, I feel it's best to separate my business life from my personal life." Reports speculate Usher's fiancee, stylist Tameka Foster, is likely to replace Patton as Usher's manager but the singer insists, "She has no aspirations of becoming my manager or any other artist's manager." The pair announced their engagement earlier this year.

Madonna Invites Timberlake Back to the Studio

Madonna was left so impressed with new songwriting partner Justin Timberlake, she has invited the singer to spend the summer with her in London. Timberlake recently spent a week with Madonna working on new tracks for her next album and admits they came up with some gems. He says, "We ended up with five or six really good (songs) - some unfinished, some finished and we're gonna go back in July and work on some more stuff." Timberlake admits he was impressed with the way Madonna works: "Her ethic is kinda infectious in the studio. I was like, 'I'm too slow, I'm too slow...' She's a workhorse and I'm just a fan... who tricked Madonna."

Costner a Dad Again

Hollywood star Kevin Costner is celebrating becoming a father again after his wife Christine gave birth to a baby boy Sunday night. Cayden Wyatt Costner was born late Sunday at a Los Angeles area hospital. It is the couple's first child together. The actor's publicist, Paul Bloch, says, "Both mother and son are doing well." Costner has three children with former wife Cindy Silva: Annie, Lily and Joe. He also has a son, Liam, with Bridget Rooney. The Waterworld star married Christine three years ago and Cayden is her first child. The Dances With Wolves Oscar winner is next set to be seen this summer in thriller Mr. Brooks opposite Demi Moore.

Campbell Weds in Malibu

Scream star Neve Campbell married British actor John Light in a ceremony in Malibu, California on Saturday. The couple, who met on the set of 2001 independent movie Investigating Sex, have been living together in London for two years. Campbell's representative Jill Fritzo says, "Neve was married in a small ceremony in Malibu on Saturday."
