Farrell Injured in Bangkok

Movie hunk Colin Farrell narrowly escaped serious injury at the weekend when he slipped on the stairway of his Bangkok hotel and twisted his foot. The Minority Report superstar is in Thailand to shoot his upcoming epic Alexander alongside co-stars Angelina Jolie, Jared Leto and Sir Anthony Hopkins. And with just two days of filming left, the Irish star was left fuming by the unfortunate accident - which has left him sporting a foot cast. Publicist Susan Patricola says, "They released him from hospital immediately and he was back at work on Monday. The movie will wrap in two days."
Oscar Nominees Told To Keep the Speeches Short

This year's Oscar nominees have been instructed to keep their speeches short on the big night, during a glitzy Los Angeles luncheon with the producer Joe Roth. The America's Sweethearts director was joined by contenders such as Diane Keaton, Charlize Theron, Sean Penn and Tim Robbins at the Beverly Hills Hotel for the traditional bash - and during the star-studded event, Roth took the opportunity to request restraint from the potential winners. He told the assembled nominees, "One of the uncomfortable realities of the awards process is that Oscar night is all about the winners, but today is all about the nominees. Enjoy the night. I think it's going to be a fast, funny, beautiful show." The 76th Academy Awards will take place on 29 February at Los Angeles' Kodak Theatre.
Banker Withdraws Jackson and Timberlake Lawsuit
Janet Jackson and Justin Timberlake can breathe a sigh of relief - Tennessee banker Terri Carlin has dropped her lawsuit against them following their Super Bowl performance. Knoxville resident Carlin sued the two pop stars, MTV, CBS and their parent company Viacom last Wednesday for millions of dollars in compensatory and punitive damages, following Jackson's breast exposure on live TV. Carlin filed the suit in the Us District Court claiming the February 1 half-time show had caused her "outrage, anger, embarrassment and serious injury," adding she was suing the stars on behalf of "all Americans". After filing the suit, Carlin and her attorney Wayne A Ritchie II received hundreds of phone calls and mail from fellow outraged Americans, who wanted to be included in the now-defunct legal battle.

Law Vows To Save Theatre

Movie hunk Jude Law has pledged to help raise $4.5 million to help save London theater the Young Vic. The Cold Mountain star is heading up a campaign aimed at rebuilding the playhouse, which is facing enforced closure thanks to a lack of funds. And Jude - who performed Christopher Marlowe's classic play Dr. Faustus on the Young Vic stage in 2002 - hopes to add to the $18 million already raised by donations, grants and Lottery funds to make up the $22.5 million needed. He says, "I grew up on the South Bank, which is why this theater is so special to me. The South Bank is where theater really started in this country. It is where people came to see the plays of Shakespeare and Marlowe, and it seems apt that the ghosts of the past should be housed here."
Sex And The City Hunk Sued by Ex-Love
Sex And The City heart-throb Jason Lewis is being sued for $130,000 by ex-girlfriend Maxine Bahns after allegedly failing to repay a loan. The blonde actor - who plays Kim Cattrall's younger love interest Smith Jerrod in the show - reportedly borrowed $70,000 from Bahns in 1999 to invest in some real estate. According to Bahns - the former love of Edward Burns and star of film She's The One - Lewis bought the $550,000 property in 2002 and sold it for $657,000 but has yet to repay the loan. Her lawsuit - filed at the Los Angeles Superior Court - has yet to be responded to by the 32-year-old actor.
Keaton's Berlin Breakdown
Diane Keaton left German journalists baffled at the weekend when she broke down in the middle of a press conference. The exhausted actress was at the Berlin Film Festival with Jack Nicholson and Amanda Peet to promote their new movie Something's Gotta Give when she cracked under pressure and started weeping. A stunned Nicholson looked on sympathetically as Keaton babbled, "I'm so tired that I think I'm going to go insane. This is hard. I've not ever been with a bunch of people like this. It's weird. You ask weird questions and I don't know how to answer them. It's just f***ing weird. It's just so odd and the thing is there's so many of you and there's so few of us. We're not represented by the crew and all the other people who worked on the movie. I'm going nuts." Nicholson then took her hand and said gently, "You wanna go home now, honey? You wanna go home now, sweetie?" Keaton was all smiles again, however, yesterday when she attended the Oscar nominees breakfast in Beverly Hills, Los Angeles.
Anna Nicole's Reality Show Cancelled

Busty heiress Anna Nicole Smith has just learned her critically-panned reality show has been cancelled, after more than seven months in limbo. The Anna Nicole Show debuted on entertainment TV network E! in 2002 to shockingly high ratings, which quickly dwindled over the months. But bosses still gave her a contract for a second season as it proved to be the network's highest- rated series. And now the voluptuous blonde is free from her series, she's quickly signed up with E! to take on another show called Anna Nicole Bares It All, which debuts on February 22. Cameras will follow the Texas native as she prepares for her first catwalk job in years for New York's Fashion Week. Production begins this week.
Celine's Grammy Tantrum

Singing diva Celine Dion lost her cool while performing at Sunday's Grammy Awards - thanks to a sound mistake. The "My Heart Will Go On" singer was furious when a malfunction backstage meant a few seconds of her song were rendered inaudible to the audience. And when she finished her performance, the hot-blooded Canadian star made her displeasure evident to all in her path. A source says, "She went ballistic. She was reaming everyone in French."
